Seriously, our pack has been found wanting this season. It's one reason, not the only one by far, why we are where we are in the table. But plenty of good judges were saying at the start of the seasons that we had a decent looking pack and that our pack would push us into the Top 4 at least.

So its something to do with the reality not matching the potential.

Lets see

Burgess? Not kicked on from last season. Can look disinterested at time. Maybe has his head turned by talk of move to Oz?

Newton? Has been a big disappointment this year

Langley? Journeyman at best. Needs to recapture form of several years ago

Worrincy? Good impact player off the bench, but lacks stamina and class for starting slot, and his tackling technique is lacking

Morrison? Awesome when available, but has hardly played

Solomona? Rarely showed his best form for us, and has been out injured most of year

Menzies - head and shoulders above rest even at his advanced years. Should have been rested more but had to put in extra stints due to inadequacies elsewhere

Scruton? Workhorse who has gradually improved as season has gone on.

All in all, plenty of 'what might have beens' but its not hard to see that the pack has not really delivered this year

As for the 'young 'uns' we've hardly had a chance to judge them yet. There's plenty of promise there, but then it is only promise at the moment. Let's not get carried away...

Agreed: but they have seemlesly fitted in with excellent perfomances and had the temitity to score tries.
Whilst you rightly discount them in your summay at the moment it would be wise of you to review that summary at the end of the season.
