The main 3 ways we stay in the 2nd tier for next season is -

1 - we finish 10th or better
2 - in a reorganisation, the championship is expanded to 14 teams
3 - in conjunction with Sky, the super league is split into 2 divisions of 10 and we are invited to be in SL2

What is evident from speaking to Ralph Rimmer last night, is that the RFL are still undecided on the new structure.

Absolute madness. It's already May and teams will be planning their acquisitions and retentions for 2018 - yet the governing body don't appear to have decided what the structure will be for next season!

Is it really too much to ask that they'd decide on a format well in advance, let everyone know and then stick to it? It's no wonder we don't seem to be able to move forward as a sport when we have this kind of leadership.

The 42 member clubs are voting on the new structures in June. It's a good interview, well worth a listen. It's such a shame I'm the only journalist prepared to put the hard yards in to get the truth. Oh well.

I'll be saying nowt, the process wasn't transparent and made no sense in the end - very good offers for the club were rejected and it smelt like there was another agenda at play.
