Any of our other props could have got dropped though. Clearly Lynch was considered to be the worst.

Indeed not. Not at all.
Given Lynch was behind Morley, Big Joe, Big Red and Fielden in the pecking order then, no not at all.
There are few props who would not have been.
And Lynch has anyway developed since then. It does happen - after all, have the fans not just voted Koppy player of the year, when only two years ago he was viewed by most as nowhere near quality?

I would agree with you, ****4brains2010andeveryyeartherafter, just look at these stats and see why I think why it is a no brainer for you. Me, I'm glad Morley did what he did for us 6 years (repeat 6 years) ago, but I am even more grateful that Andy has done what he has done for us this year: 1300 metres (yes I will put that in words, one thousand three hundred metres in one season) MORE than Adrian, 280 tackles MORE than Adrian, 37 MORE offloads, 26 MORE tackle busts, 5 MORE clean breaks, 15 LESS missed tackles. Just what planet are you on? Fantasy troll rugby league planet clearly. To improve the team the poor performers need to be replaced with better ones, not the better performers with weaker ones.

I'm just on about 6 years ago when he played for us.
Save your stats, i don't give a damn about them.
Everybody in the world knows Lynch has never been able to lace Morley's boots and still can't.

A poor and ill advised selection IMO as Player of the Year. Whilst there is no outstanding candidate there are 3/4 that are in front of him for talent and effort.

| That is the beauty of supporters poll's it is down to our opinions.
Clearly you are in the minority certainly of those who actually voted. I think he has been a real success this year and certainly offers something different. Would like to see some different players perform but feel Kearney has had some poor games to match his good ones, elima (whose season ending injury should have increased him up the poll) diskin for playing on with a shoulder injury for so long, whitehead who made an at times seemless transition into the outside backs, raynor if not just for his effort and unwaneing commitment during testing personal circumstance? who cares koppy got it and deserves it due to most votes.
I think the point Adey was trying to make was a more than valid one. Koppy was being raced out of super league by some and has been linked with moves to the likes of Giants at times. Maybe Lynch deserves a fresh start that Deacon has revelled in? maybe if we put him into a wigan/wire side and saw what he could do with better calibre of player around him we could see what difference that makes?

Not when you look at the other props we had in the side. Clearly Lynch was at the bottom of the pecking order. It'd be no different to say Burgess getting dropped from this season's squad.
But to be fair to Lynch, he buckled down and improved his game following it.

| Not sure I get that?
I must admit - would rather have Morley in the side than Lynch.
Morley strikes fear into his opponents and has a really big hit that 'gees' up his team mates.
Stat's don't tell the whole story I'm afraid, as much more goes on in a game that has an effect!

| we already need a couple of additions in the forwards with Lynch still here, nevermind if he went.
Lynch is our best prop - but that's mainly due to the fact the others (Burgess excepted) aren't upto much at all. He's a decent enough player and has the ability to drag the team forward, and offload a football but it's not a massive disaster if he goes, provided we have replacements lined up.

Indeed - with your crucial caveat being irrefutable.

At the moment the senior props are mostly solid, Tom has the biggest fear factor, so I would rather he was encouraged to develop on his experience this season into a truly feared prop because of the hits he puts in both in defence and attack. and strangely enough B4C2010 has left Hargreaves out of his starting 17 for next season, leaving Lynch in and Tom on the bench. he must have been reading some stats.

And no doubt he has had considerably more time spent on the field due things like, injury to Morley, less squad depth at Bradford allowing for less forward interchange, Wire generally being a team so far in the lead they have more scope to rest players with time to go than we do.
Quote 280 tackles MORE than Adrian,'"
Odd that given we are defending far more than Warrington are. Morley also has a far better standard of team-mate sharing the workload.
Quote 37 MORE offloads, 26 MORE tackle busts, 5 MORE clean breaks'"
Again, how much more game time has he had? This is always going to be the case.
Quote 15 LESS missed tackles'"
I was almost gonna concede that point but as Lynch gets more practice at tackling then of course he should be better at it.
Stats can really be used to back up many arguments can't they?

| Even if you standardised the stats Lynch would still be ahead this season. Doesnt your point about the amount of games Morley missed through injury also apply to Jamie Langley, not saying you are calling for him to go, but others certainly are. Your point about less forward interchange is spot on, remember the moans about Tom only playing for 10 minutes for his first few matches. somebody had to carry that load. The essential point is, if you want to strengthen a team, you get rid of the weaker ones and replace them with better ones. Replacing Lynch with an injury prone Morley would weaken our team. Adding a younger Morley type player would improve the team.

Can it really be that hard to just sort it out and come out and say He is staying at Bulls or he is going to Hull/Widnes ?

| Er, yes.
The several hundred at last night's Fans' Forum were told precisely that. In response to the specific question "[iIs Andy Lynch still a Bull, and will he still be a Bull next season? And if not, what happened[/i?
The first bit was answered with an unequivocal "yes". The second bit was not answered at all. The third bit was answered by what you have seen reported. You'll be pleased to hear that Hood specifically stated that Hull FC had conducted themselves entirely properly in this matter, and had made the correct approaches through the proper channels. He was at pains to emphasise this.
