I wouldn't take Orford over McGuire, Burrow, Myler, Briers, Tommy Leu, Sean Long, Rangi Chase or Kyle Eastmond.
So no, no he wouldn't.
Hall wouldn't make any other SL side, including Crusaders, Quins or Salford.'"
So you haven't been watching RL long then? Orford has more to his game than Long, Briers, Tommy, McGuire, Burrow & Chase. He has more to his game than Myler ever will.
Eastmond is the only player who I would take out of that list over a fully fit Orford.
He may have had a poor season, but if Hall can hold down a place in a NRL champion side, he can get in most in SL. He would easily get in the 3 you've mentioned, plus Cas, Wakey & Catalans.

Past performances are completely irrelevant. He may have been able to hold down a place in the Manly side before, but if he'd played for Manly like he has for us, there's no way he would have been a regular.
How he played for Manly DOES NOT MATTER. How he has played (or not played) for us, is what does matter. And he's been poor.

| I seem to recall the our most disastrous signing of the SL era came with an outstanding previous (in RL) track record. I'd rather not be reminded again how that turned out...
And we signed Shaun Edwards years ago, he of fantastic pedigree, and look how THAT turned out?
As the financial ads say, the past is no guide to the future, sadly. Hall for me has been a big disappointment so far - for whatever reason - as I was expecting a Brad Meyers with attitude.
Kearney and L'estrange have exceeded my expectations. Orford, after allowing for his late arrival, was outstanding till the wheels came off.

Just the 25 years.
Orford is and always has been hugely overated on both sides of the pond. By fans, teamates and respected pundits alike. I don't go with the Aussie flag waving masses who would cheer on a steaming turd if it could sing 3 choruses of Waltzing Matilda.
Orford better than any of the above? No.That he can't even stay fit or get on the paddock to prove otherwise partially illustrates what a poor investment he was in the first instance.

Aye I'd agree with that. Kearney & L'Estrange certainly been good signings. Orford I suspect would be if we could keep him fit. Hall has been a massive disappointment.
That of course does not mean though that he won't get better. I thought Andy Lynch was poor in his first season after signing from Cas and I was one of the people that kind of agreed with him not playing in the Grand Final that year, as I didn't think his form deserved it. Now look at him. Can only think of 1 prop in the league I'd swap him for and that's James Graham.

I maintain, I can't think of any side Hall would get in, bar the Bulls by obligation. Whatever his apparent lack of fitness issue is, 5 months into the season, it needs addressing. Quickly.
The thoughts of his teamates would be interesting given Scruton shouting at him (post double substitution) to "f'kin get up" when Hall resumed his crouching tiger, hidden player pose, in the Giants game.

I'm not sure what his record was like before he came to Odsal. Did he have a history of injury?
As for Hall he is underperforming and for a quota player that's all the more disappointing. Nevertheless he's not the only underperforming player in the side this year. I hope the new coach gets more out of him.
