Absolutely. Part of me ecstatic about Orford signing but it is also tinged with a bit of sadness with Deacon's departure. I think purely on a Football level it is the right move for the Bulls though.

Cannot wait to see Orford in action at Odsal next year, I just hope some of the Bradford public now get behind the club and get our crowds rising once again. They wanted a marquee name.. they have one now.

Certainly puts our team in a new perspective, I just hope our back line is good enough to take advantage - I cannot see any other players coming in now to be fair.

Pack looks good, halves look good, back line eh not sure. Think we are missing a winger that can finish consistently.

We have potentially two exciting players at 6 and 7, whether they can strike up a winning combination though remains to be seen. However I rate Orford as a big improvement on what we had a week ago. Our right side still looks a bit shakey though and we will need Reardon to bounce back in style if we're to be considered contenders once again. Doubt we have any further announcements.. although Macca did mention a couple of balls in the air!

I just feel if we could pull one quality back out of the bag we would be in a much better position.

And to all those who reckon he is too old, Manly offered him a two year deal in the NRL and to be honest we don't exactly have an old squad next year and IMO we need the experience.

I reckon the club are going to give Crookes his chance next season, possibly on the wing to start with.

Finally the Bradford public will see what they have been missing since Robbie. Macca has no excuses now, you've got to aim for a top 6 with the HBs you've now got. Sure you are still weak at centre & wing, but so are most teams in the competition, relatively yours are as good as the majority.

that was before we had to increase the offer to snag orford. Cant see there being enough left in the kitty now to get anyone of any great quality now. having said that Im very pleased with this years recruitment. best we've had for a lot of years imo and we should see a very different side next year

Finally, some long awaited wonderful news! A big name and a shirt seller for 2010 and we now seem to have some quality in the halves.

I guess that Deacons departure means that Sykes may now be promoted to main goal kicker so that would seem to suggest he will be at centre again next season.

Looks so much better with the halfbacks we now have.

We lost plenty of big earners in the off season and did not appear to spend a great deal on new faces so the $$$$ should not be too much of an issue I have to say.

Prefer to see the official club announcement before getting carried away - and I guess the Visa stamp in the passport would be a tad reasuring too. But this signing (if/when confirmed) might just brighten the morose melancholy of even the most negative of the NT?

Might also help convince a few both (you will never convince the closed minds) from within the fanbase and from outside that the club is spending or will spend the salary cap, and that finances are not an immediate worry despite all the adversity?

Great news for Bulls, possibley good news for us, Deacon is less likely to have an impact with us really, lets be honest though not many people can have as much deapth as us in the halves with an experienced professional who has one more trophies than most players in super league as backup!

I hope it works out for both clubs, super league is better with a strong Bradford side. I would love to see you guys bringing 4,000 fans to our place again!
