RFL statement – Bradford Bulls

The Super League clubs were today given an update by the RFL on the due diligence process the governing body is undertaking on the three offers submitted by the consortiums interested in purchasing Bradford Bulls.

The Super league clubs were encouraged by the detail presented to them and have mandated the RFL Executive to continue working towards bringing the matter to a satisfactory conclusion.

The RFL will now continue discussions and meet with the bidders as soon as possible.

insofar as the detail is there, ie the structure of the business plans is ok, but there is no comment on whether the content makes any sense. so a very small positive step, but no grounds for optimism. But I'm not throwing out the bath water yet.

I think a serious case of Fatigue is now upon the Forum regards this ongoing saga. Best to look forward to encouraging the Players to get to the Play Offs!

Now THAT report is what you would hope the T&A would report, does seem very very positive from telling us who the preferred bidder seems to be, to looking likely for SL next year, about players staying and maybe under new ownership as early as next week!

One slight innacuracy in the report in that it says bradford city submitted a business plan, which we know they didnt, but otherwise much more positive. Plenty of info in there that T&A failed to report in their piece today.

I'm refusing to feel optimistic until the deal is done. Too many deadlines have been and gone. I'm a bit sceptical about the BPA bid, but that's not based on any hard facts.

Maybe the T&A are juts being more cautious?

SL clubs are hardly going to set a precedent that might affect them ie booting a club out for having serious financial problems are they. Enjoy your love in.

It says on BBC sport that they are looking at two bids now, one being Bradford park avenue. I have been on holiday for two weeks, am I missing something?.

There are still 3 bids in play. However the SL bid is being positioned as a fall back should the other two bids not make the grade.

The BPA bid, I think, would be best going forward from a sporting pov.

Would it not make sense for some sort of agreement between all parties? If Khan gets the nod he will surely be looking at ways to maximise the use of the stadium?

I think this is the best way forward. I would probably go and watch BPA as well if they moved to Odsal.

I think too much is being read into the YP article.

The way I read it, the other SL clubs have all agreed that SL should remain a 14 club competition and have been updated on the progress of the bids for the Bulls.

There doesn't seem to be any guarantee that the Bulls WILL be in SL next year, and I suspect that if there isn't a business plan that addresses the historic debts then the Bulls will lose their licence.
