| RFL Statement
Quote RFL Chief Operating Officer Ralph Rimmer has issued the following statement in response to criticism of the governing body’s action during the most recent insolvency event at Bradford Bulls:
“It is disappointing and disingenuous for Bradford Bulls to suggest that the RFL has acted in any manner other than fairly and properly throughout a crisis which is entirely of the club’s own making.
“The root cause of the current situation is the failed attempt by Mark Moore and Ryan Whitcut to use the club’s own money to purchase Bradford Bulls from Omar Khan, who had left the club in a parlous state.
“Had Mr Moore not refused to honour the agreement he signed to buy the club from Mr Khan, Bradford Bulls would not be where they are today.
“Throughout our dealings with them, the club’s directors were unable to provide any evidence of new capital investment into Bradford Bulls and consequently, the RFL Executive had no confidence in the business plan that was presented.
“At no stage was there a firm written commitment from the directors to meet the liabilities: in particular, HMRC would have been left with an unpaid liability of almost £170,000.
“In the last six months two other clubs have had to restructure their businesses, introduce new investment from owners and release players to avoid administration. For Bradford to effectively drop off debt as a result of the administration without a points deduction would have significantly impaired the integrity of the competition.
“At a meeting with the club’s directors on February 7 they informed the RFL that they needed a further £500,000 of investment or advances of broadcast monies in order to continue to trade.
“We have seen nothing further from the directors to suggest that situation has improved. Indeed their business plan revealed yet another attempt to buy the club with its own money.
“We will continue to work with the administrator to find a solvent and viable solution for the club and will provide an update to the other First Utility Super League clubs at their scheduled meeting tomorrow.”'"

| Quote ="DaveO"This is why I don't understand the new owners walking away. We have a new structure coming in that is supposed to allow for relegation with it not being the (off field, contractual and financial) disaster it used to be going from SL down to NL1.
Or is the new super-duper 24 team league not so super-duper after all?'"
unfortunately it's only super-duper if you are in the top 12 and have virtually double the salary cap of the bottom 12........twice as likely to stay in the super-duper even if finishing in 12th place

| So the club asked for its Sky money back to enable it to trade, the RFL said no. They asked again, the RFL said no again. That's how I read it.
So once again, cheers RFL.

Come on, after that statement on behalf of the current board could you realistically expect the RFL to remain silent?
As ever, the truth probably lies somewhere between the two statements

| What a mess. Now all the dirty linen is being done in public there's no way back for Moore & Co. The other investors the administrator saw were even less likely to take over than Moore so I really don't see any light at the end of the tunnel here.
While the weekend's game may go ahead we're back in admin and with no foreseeable new owners likely to come in I can only see eventual liquidation at the moment.
If that happens then that's me done with RL.
Looks like the London game could be emotional ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

| The 6 points i could accept, half the Sky money, OK. Special measures! Just Kill us of now why don't you.
There is no way up from here with no prospective owner and who is to say a new owner will not get any better treatment from the RFL.
Once again the fans and players suffer through no fault of their own.

| KAPOW!
Some people need to get a grip. The RFL have done far more to help bradford than any other club. To blame this on them is libellous. Bradford only have themselves to blame.
What happen now?
Who knows, but it's going to be very interesting and exciting to see ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif)

| He sounded curiously positive.
But in light of what the RFL has said about MM & Co. (no new money, their plan included asking for £1/2m advance etc) - if THEIR bid was better than Lamb's bid - where does that leave creditors and the RFL?

| Has he got the money to pay the creditors and run the club until the end of the season? I suspect there's not much coming in and we'd continue to be on half the TV money.
Even if he cut the player budget to a fraction of what it was the subsequent loss of income would cripple the club as sponsors and gate receipts disappeared.
I'd suggest that unless someone's got at least a million quid to spare then that's it. The RFL haven't got any real serious idea for a sustainable funding model for SL clubs, it's sugar daddy or bust (unless you happen to be in Leeds).

| Feel a bit sad for you bulls fans.
What I can't understand is some wakey fans seem to think they know how to run a club better.
Both bulls and Wakey have obviously been poorly managed let's hope bulls can find a bloke like Wakey have who seems to be putting the club right...

| The trouble with gate receipts is that the huge push OKB made has mopped up in season ticket sales the large majority of likely home fans, and that money has all gone.
Going forward therefore, and for the whole season, there is basically NO income at the gate (comparatively speaking) unless you don't honour the old club's season ticket sales. Plus it sounds like although it's not clear what the distribution penalty will be, it is certainly no less than the existing, and we seemingly have already drawn plenty of that, and the RFL say we wanted another haf mill, so the incoming owner would have very little distribution money too.
I really don't see how that can work, absent rich person bankrolling it.
