| I don't post on here very often mainly due to time constraints but I read it practically every day during my half hour lunch at work. Today I felt compelled to come on and post because the announcement at the game yesterday was simply outstanding.
I started going to watch the Bulls in about 1997 and my dad, mum, sister, brother and I all went to every home game for the next few years. Since then my mums and sisters support has all but ceased and in the last 3-4 years it has just been me, my dad and brother with the occasional friend coming along too.
We have never had a season ticket between us until this year when we bought my dad one for his 60th birthday. My brother and I have always tended to pay on the door (we never knew at the start of a season if we'd be able to make all the games due to other commitments).
After yesterdays announcement my dad, brother and I have all pledged. My mum, who now has more time on her hands due to her retiring has pledged because she quite fancies coming to some games again. If she doesn't make it to some of the games we can see if anyone else fancies using her membership card.
I text one of my friends this evening who has been to one or two games this year and he has pledged.
That's 4 people who have never had a season ticket and 1 who only started getting one this year pledging.
From reading this thread it seems that this offer, the new coach, the release (hopefully) of some of our poorer players and the promise of some exciting new signings coupled with the re-signing of our important players is inspiring people. Hopefully the buzz of the late 90's will soon be returning.....
I for one feel very happy that I stuck it out this year through the losing streak to see the lads win yesterday. Hopefully we'll get the nice reward of being able to watch them on the cheap next year when hopefully they'll be better equipped to push the top teams (like we saw earlier this year) when the team was fully fit.

| Bradford's recruitment takes on even greater importance for next season now. (Realise I'm not stating anything you don't already know!)
Real quality signings are a must in order to produce far better performances and results that may persuade most to buy a season ticket for the full price the year after. Great initiative but it may not do much good long-term if Bradford continue with the shocking display of 2010.
The likes of Shaun Ainscough and Oliver Elima aren't of the standard Bradford require in my opinion. Speaking from a Wigan perspective, Ainscough at SL, Championship and U20's level finishes moves well but is a liability defensively at the moment.
If Orford doesn't return, its imperative that his cap money is spent wisely. The likes of Donaldson and the Burgess brothers should hopefully make an impact as well.

| You can tell that Wigan are back at the top of the league; their fans are telling us how to recruit again <has flash-back to standing on the terraces in the early 1990's>.
Isn't it 12 years since you lot won the SL? You want to concentrate on your own signings and hanging on to your youngsters.

Not telling anyone how to do anything - just giving my opinion. I come in peace.
I want our sport to flourish and a strong Bradford is key to that. I genuinely want the Bulls to get back to their best - in theory we should be in for an awesome competition if they did when you consider the progress of other clubs such as Wire, Huddersfield and the two Hull clubs. Salford could well be a big threat in the years to come also.

Agree about Ainscough - not about Elima, he's exactly the type of player we should be looking to sign imo.

| If you buy a £99 ticket for the stand will you just sit anywhere then, black seats apart or will you have a designated seat?

That may depend on how many they get pledging.
I believe Health & Safety regs state that if you have unreserved seating in a stand, you are only allowed to sell 90% of the tickets for that area. If it's reserved (specific seats), you can sell 100%.
Unless they've stated otherwise, the club may be waiting to see how many pledge for a ticket in the stand before deciding if it's reserved or unreserved?
(I'm only speculating here btw, I don't know the ins and outs of the stand, as I've very rarely sat in it)

| how many does stand hold? 6k?
given how cheap it is to sit now compared to last years prices they may actually run into problems with it being oversubscribed especially when you factor in the cheaper family tickets.

I've sent two now and he hasn't got back to me and I'm offering to do Shipley and Baildon.
I'll send a third now and see if he finally gives me a reply.

if you think about it mick, the t&a only has a limited number of sports pages. On a monday they have double page spreads for both city and bulls results with both sharing back page. added onto that they have to cover all lower league soccer and cricket in district. much better to hold fire for a day and get a full page article tomorrow and get more impact after the teaser they put in the match report.

The Tetley's stand holds just over 5,400 Matt.
I've made a budget of 3500 people taking up the £99 offer and 1000 going for the £150/£190 offers.
So that leaves 900 for walk up supporters.

I know, I just got it in my head it would be backpage news, not some crap about Bradford City having a man sent off.

seriously suspect they may have been a bit swamped today so replies to emails may take a little longer than usual.

| Can we make this thread a sticky and replace the banner at the top of the board with the Bulls pledge 10000 advert?
I'm sure the club wouldn't mind us using content from their site for this.

you may think its crap but im sure the city supporting half of the city found it interesting. not everyone shares your obsession with RL and T&A has to cover all sports not just RL. I'd be more concerned about the pathetic amount of coverage the announcement got in League express and in particular how downbeat a spin they tried to put on it, overemphasising the need for 10k ( with the unstated sentiment that we had no chance of reaching the target, or at least that was way I read it).

I must say I'm a bit appalled at the League Express for the lack of coverage towards what the deal is and means to the supporters.
When Huddersfield did there's against Catalans two years ago, they got near enough a full page.

Bit of patience might be in order...these guys don't have the luxury of being able to sit at their PCs all day and can easily be tied up all day. Especially at hectic times like this.

| think someone mentioned it earlier but wouldnt it be a good idea if club sent out some sort of automated email confirming they've received your pledge? realise you get the thank you screen after filling in details and submitting them but would be re-assuring to have something on email too.
