It's this sort of (constant) ribbing that winds up giants fans and leads to them being accused of Being poor winners. If its not lack of trophies it's support base. I hope for your sake you don't have to suffer what giants fans have but given your current financial situation don't be surprised if you have a few lean years in terms of silverware (how long has it been?) and supporters -I already know of one or two bulls fans who have gone back to their hometown club swapping a bulls for a giants season ticket. Also don't be surprised when it happens if the same people you are having a go at now have a big long laugh at your expense. I suspect your begging bowls weren't particularly well filled today -perhaps the treatment by your fans for the last several years will explain why.

For what it's worth I think it would be brilliant if Huddersfield won the league. Warrington won the cup recently but as far as I'm concerned they've won nothing too. The league is where it's at and frankly whilst I wanted Warrington to be the new name on the trophy they don't like it up 'em and they'll fold like tissue paper in the play offs. Huddersfield look the business to me.

Put it this way take out Robinson, Brough, Brown, Grix, Eden and the Giants would perform as well as we have without our key players.

Judging from the absolute crap spouted by both sets of fans on here, occasionally correct, mainly petty and mostly inaccurate, I'd say Hudderfield/Bradford is a proper local derby.

No, not in the slightest, and hasn't been for a very long time.

The only Giants fans who seem to take a personal and rather sniffy interest in it are the touchy souls who wander onto this forum after a win, either for some schadenfreude or to convince us not only did they win, but they are great.

But to even qualify as any sort of derby, it has to mean something to the fans, in numbers, and Huddersfield fans, to their continuing shame, simply can't even be arrsed to travel the few miles down to road.

In the last days of top flight Fax they brought next to no one to Valley parade. It looked like 20 people. Even taking into account that we were in our pomp and they were dire, this genuine derby attracted no interest from Fax fans. It doesn't mean it wasn't a real derby does it?

I think a minority of Fax fans took it all [ivery[/i personally, though. There was a kind of genuine hatred from these people, which I don't think was ever reciprocated from our end, and which I certainly don't detect from the shudders fans.

There's plenty of banter though, some of it pretty silly (heigh ho) and from both sides. I think it is a proper derby but the one thing missing is the fact that whilst both sides have had dominant periods, there has never been a time (in my memory, anyway) when both sides were at the top the game at the same time. That's when the derby atmosphere really crackles; when one side is top and the other second or when you meet in a cup semi.....bring it on!!

As poor as our away support has been over the years of constant smashings by the likes of yourselves,leeds saints et, it is certainly improving, much the same as when you were good your away support was fantastic, unfortunately now you are down to the hardcore. Bit silly to mock our away following when you haven't brought a decent following to us for years now.
As for the derby thing, no chance,salfordd is our real derby game!
