The "ring-fenced" statement was to tell everyone that they no longer were looking to offload players (as they had been) and to warn off other clubs from trying to entice away our players. It was pretty clear they wanted to keep everyone they had.

What they did NOT say - because they could not - because no-one could - is that they would be able to force players to stay who were intent on going.

It is worth emphasising that the press release says wakefields conduct had been bang on. In these times of dog eat dog at least they conducted themselves honorably.

If Bradford have ANY good news up their sleeve please please release it ASAP.

I understand the anger and concern...... But not the insults. Most of the comments directed against the player, the coach and the Board are out of order. He's gone, he gave us some good memories, he has a chance for a better deal and don't forget he stuck with the team in the previous administration ( his second).
Our position is precarious financially and on the field. If we tear ourselves apart with all this wrangling there will be no chance of a better future. All you are doing is feeding those trolls who revel in our crisis.

Out of the players we've lost over the last 12 or so months, Sammut is the only one that I'm deeply upset and concerned over.

Whitehead, Bateman, yes they were 2 of our best and brightest home grown players, but can you honestly say at any point during their Bradford careers "We'd have won that game if Whitehead/Bateman had been playing"? I can't think of a single instance. But Sammut? There were games last year that he won for us.

Yes, he has a tendency to go missing on occasion (the occasion usually being him getting smashed by the opposition) but that's something that can be levelled at all players of his ilk.

IF there are new players heading to Bradford to replace Carvell and Sammut, I hope that they get here soon and are willing and able to step in and lift the side because I think it's going to take something special to save us from relegation this season.

Wakey fans seem to think Scruton is on way to them. His wife works there so would make sense.
