| Quote ="Mirfieldbull"What I still don't get is that the administrator has a legal responsibility to get the best deal for the creditors, surely by not sanctioning the deal with BB2014, the RFL are asking Wilson to not meet his obligations? Can anyone explain that to me?'"
This is one of the crucial questions that needs an answer. However I doubt that any journalist will risk their relationship with Red Hall by asking for a clear response.
As you say, Wilson has legal and professional responsibilities . He has to examine the bids and satisfy himself not only which is best but whether it is feasible. In this case , of the 2 on the table he chose the 2014. If there were as many holes in that bid as Rimmer and Solly have claimed, he had the option of rejecting the 2014 bid- it wasn't one or the other. Hark back to the first administration when Guilfoyle effectively did just that and extended the time limit.
It's not unreasonable to suspect that the administrator is not enamoured by the RFL rejection and that his actions in the past few days could have been guided by that. Obviously that'd only a theory but there will be an abundance of hypotheses until a clear statement is made. And that statement should IMO be made by Wood , the strangely quiet CEO.
Just read Nothus' comment. You are Absolutely right but the tragedy is that NONE of the individuals who made that secret deal on behalf of the RFL have been penalised. And the individual who brokered it on behalf of the Bulls is long gone. The playing, coaching and admin staff are the main sufferers.

| Where has this 'rfl didn't sanction the takeover' come from?
All parties who made bids for the club passed the rfl's fit and proper persons test. That is as far the rfl's involvement goes.
Mark Moore and co withdrew their offer to buy the club, it wasn't a case of the rfl blocking it.
They just threw the toys out of the pram when the points deduction was announced. Whether they were justified in doing that or not is open to debate.

It does frustrate me a little that the administrator is getting so much flak. He's not interested in running a successful business, he just wants to recoup money for his creditors. It's not his fault that this company has landed back on his doorstep, a week after he thought he had completed his job.
If Moore and co took their punishment, the only discussion we would be having would be if we could avoid the drop with the players we had at our disposal. From a personal point of view, I actually thought we could have done it.
4 days later, we're now asking if we could avoid the drop, now without our best forward, a company that has no owner, and a squad of players that don't know where their next pay is coming from. I'm a little miffed that the owners decided to throw a tantrum, even if we did get relegated, it would have been nice to know that these guys were in it for the long run. Looking back, i'm quite glad that we realised now that these individuals couldn't stick at it when the going got tough. Lets have an owner that will stick with us through the good and the bad.

OK passed the F&PP test which he needed to do to get his foot through the door of the administrator. BG then sells the club to OK Bulls Ltd. That happened at the [url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/19446070end of August in 2012[/url.
Transfer of the license to OK Bulls Ltd happened [url=http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-league/news/12213/8072255/rfl-ratify-bulls-takeovera little over a week later[/url following ratification of the takeover.
Presumably that second stage was still to come this time round too. It could easily be that the RFL were about to put the brakes on prior to dummies being spat out of the pram.

Fair enough, but we never even got that far this time because MM never gave them a chance.

| Quote ="Nothus"Well it's not quite that straightforward. You need to remember that the RFL lent us £700,000 on the sly without telling the other clubs.
We then failed to make a single repayment over the course of the next 12 months (I think).
So then Peter Hood had his brainwave to sell the lease to Odsal to the RFL, and they proceeded to make up some BS story about predators trying to buy Odsal to cover it all up.
We were punished for this debacle in addition to admin. Some people on here conveniently leave this part out in their complaints over our treatment.'"
We were punished by the other party to the debacle. Or, more accurately, successive owners / prospective owners who had nothing to do with the debacle are being punished for the debacle by the other party to the debacle.

You may be right but if you are it means that the RFL were prepared to accept as owners (who had passed the fit and proper persons test) a group whose proposals were in their view completely untenable. This view of the bid was made abundantly clear in the Rimmer press release, supplemented by his interview on Boots n All.

Indeed. Who knows, maybe if Moore and co had stayed, the RFL might not have approved it anyway. But we'll never know now.
Rimmer's retort certainly was the complete opposite to what the rfl had been saying about our situation up until this point. They specifically highlighted Calvert as somebody who they felt confident in taking the club forward.
In all honesty I have no idea who to believe in all this. I suspect both parties may be 'fabricating the truth' to save face, and it's the innocent ones such as staff, players and fans who feel the brunt of it.
Let's just hope the supposed interested parties are still interested after this weekend.

Good point, I let emotion get the better of me in terms of facts! But there is a big disconnect between administrator and RFL - Administrator accepts bid as best, so assume they demonstrated they have the cash, RFL say they haven't. Where does the truth lie?

Given that there are a number of interested parties (apparently), and the administrator would have had a glimpse of their bids by now, this maybe a way of ensuring he gets paid, alternatively, Scruton's departure may now make the club a better proposition to buyers due to the reduced outgoings.
Whomever comes forward to save the club will have to start planning for life in SL2. We may be able to save a bit of cash this year to give the new owners a better opportunity to build for next year.
For all we know, the administrator may have told the bidders that he was in the process of selling some assets before it went through, Willey appeared to already know yesterday when the rumors began, judging some of her facebook posts

Well, I for one don't know, but from what I remember, nobody is. I don't think it would matter since I can't imagine any scenario where the administrator saved it as a going concern to hand back to the directors, so it will either be sold or, if it would be better for creditors, liquidated.

I would guess that is exactly what he is doing. Get the wage bill down to a figure that is equal to the amount of income currently available to him (whatever that figure may be ??), at which point I am sure there is a buyer lined up who will then come in and effectively start from scratch.
Hopefully this will save the club, but will certainly leave a lot of building back up to be done.
as has been said already its the timing of all this which could not have been worse.

| I'd love to see what that is.
A few things stink in this whole mess like RFL involvement and to what level and how a single one night concert can feasibly lose nearly 200k.

Debaser, firstly I do not purport any 'insider knowledge' and only comment on what I read in the public domain.
Interestingly these statements were made by a person with an 'interesting' surname.
I, like many others, were shocked by MM's inappropriate and later withdrawn statement regarding 'NO Points deduction' when apparently the RFL had been privy, and working closely, with the Boards dealings. I personally find it hard to believe that MM's statement was purely a figment of is imagination. Just my take on the matter, you understand.
Maybe if these comments that I read prove correct, they [umay[/u relate to that scenario. We do not have long to wait to see whether those comments have any foundations.

| I've always thought the same, that the RFL almost held the hands of the owners through the whole saga helping them rid of OK, then when the deed was done, they changed the agreed outcome due to pressures from other clubs.

There has to be no doubt that MM was given that information. He would not have made it up. So yes, big questions about what happened next. The truth has to come out.

| I'm not sure why Steel City Bull is being coy, given -as he says - the rumour is in the public domain.
The rumour to which he refers purports to be from Joshua Moore and was posted on the Facebook group Bradford Bulls Banter. Take that as you wish, there's a lot of tosh spoken in that group, but who knows?
And Joshua Moore has every reason to try and make his dad come up smelling of roses - indeed he has previous for posting stuff that does that
Either way, I'll be buying a copy of League Express tomorrow

Correct paulwalker71, but as I withdrew from the BB Banter site some time ago, I saw these comments on someone else's profile (or whatever they call them) Because of that, I was hesitate to name name's, nothing moore (sic)
I'm not the sort to believe every titbit I read, but the timing is about right, and questions many of us have regarding this particular aspect needs to be answered now before the 'Baby is thrown out with the bath water'...... if it's not too late already.
I too will be buying the RL papers tomorrow....
