With losing Addy & Whitehead & Maybe Langley off to Cas we were always going to need a couple of back rowers. This will be a cheapish option i would have thought.

No idea whether Dale Ferguson will or will not be a Bulls player next season but just for the record he has played 16 times so far in the Huddersfield team this season either in the starting line up or off the bench and I've just had a look at his stats so far on the Super League site. Not bad really and shows up well compared to Jason Chan and Ukuma Ta'ia in terms of yardage per carry and also tackles.
In our present circumstances and given the need to build on what we have, I would have thought a decent signing.

Ferguson would be a very good signing. A better defender than Whitehead or Addy and a considerably better player all round than Sibbitt. Alongside Carvell this is decent recruitment.

The problem FC has got is that the pack was so light to begin with and losing Whitehead, Addy, Stranger we need to sign a minimum of 5 forwards not including Ben Evans which won't be easy.

Ferguson's stats in match against us in Manchester included 40 tackles (top Giants tackler) 8.5 average metres per carry and two tries.

Not sure we need quite that many. On books so far we have

Assuming ferguson is a done deal and donaldson being retained , which both seem likely, and were unlikely to get a third hooker (convoy added to 1st team squad so he'd be emergency backup.) then I think we need as a minimum 2 props and 1 more 2nd row. On top of those position we need a replacement for lulia and at least one utility back assuming no more departures.

Hopefully we can add Langley to the above list.

Carvell, Ferguson + 'two more props and 1 more 2nd row' = 5 so we're in agreement. We certainly need to replace Lulia and hopefully keep Blythe.

Fair enough thought you meant five in addition to Carvell and Ferguson (assuming he's coming).

can tell his contract has been up this year, had some good performances.

not quite upto scratch on his defence for me but can see him leaving as i think we have signed bailey from london.

Won't be a bad signing now he has sorted his attitude problems out which blighted him in his early days.

Ferguson has always been a good player, lost his form temporarily last season but is in great nick at the moment. No disrespect but I'm sure he would have the choice of a number of top clubs if he was to leave Hudds. I can't believe some of the rubbish posted about him on this thread.

You are right . He is a good player. He went down the pecking order at the begining of the season went to HKR on loan and played really well there. So much so that lots of HKR fans hoped he would stay. A very good defensive player who can run good lines in attack.
If you get him you will be very lucky.
