| The Bulls are offering a half season ticket for £99 and if you buy it by Friday they'll throw in the Wigan game.
Not a bad deal for 8 games.

| It would have been nice if they had introduced a half season ticket at the beginning of the season where you could pick the games you wanted to go to. The reason for this is that it would encourage people who live a distance away/with work commitments to attend more games than if they just had to pay full whack on the gate.

| I think it's a brilliant idea right now
Take advantage of the feel good factor - 3rd in the league, before we play Wigan, Warrington and Leeds.
Boost our season tickets numbers before the RFL make their decision on us

The club did have a half season ticket for sale at the beginning of the year.
It was £140 for any nine games of your choice, saving £40 on the individual walk up price.

May well be, I don't know much anymore, out of the loop! You probably know more than me buddy!
It's still a good idea, especially as I knew I was going to miss about 4 in the opening half, but probably just 1 in the 2nd, so suits me great!!

I didn't hear about it at the time either, but when I went to get my Saints ticket (with the City @ Wembley offer), someone in the ticket office told me that it had just ended. I said that I would probably have got one if I had known, and they did say it wasn't pushed very strongly, could have been advertised a lot better.

| I guess it's probably a strong indicator that the marketing needs to improve pretty dramatically if some the recent/regular supporters aren't aware of match day offers. Hopefully it is an area the club are working on to improve.

| Maybe the main area that will improve towards the end of season and next year, really need to get someone with a proven background in marketing.

Disagree, any recent/regular supporter actively looking for any matchday / ticket offers only has to ask! If they are in fact so uninterested that they can't even be bothered to ask, then I don't think an advert in the Times or whatever is gonna help. It isn't rocket science to figure out that, at any given time, there [imight[/i well be some ticket deal or other on offer, is it?
All offers AFAIK have been on the website - if anyone has even a passing interest in reacquainting themselves with personal attendance then wouldn't they at least look there?
If there are 3000 recent/regular supporters who didn't renew their season tickets then just one mailshot to them is going to cost around two grand at least, depending on how glossy and professional you make the inserts. What else could they do to communicate to " recent/regular supporters" that they don't already do?
I think people should realise that this mantra of "better marketing" that people keep harping on about (by no means just at the Bulls) is just largely wishful thinking by people who know little about it. I am no marketing guru but do know that hardly anybody has any spare dosh sloshing about for marketing, look at the fact that SuperLeague itself hasn't even found someone to pay a penny for the naming rights for two years now, so even the big players are clearly counting the pennies and feeling teh pinch - and also maybe taking the view that when nobody in the area has any spare money then there may be little value to be had in terms of additional revenue from the target audience.

What a load of rubbish! Fans should have to ask if there are any ticket offers??? The idea of offers is that they are advertised in the hope that fans take up the offer, a good half season ticket offer may entice more fans who might not attend matches otherwise.
Not all advertising costs money, an email newsletter can be sent for free (Bulls will have thousands of email addresses on their database), along with twitter, facebook etc, they could also make a post on forums like this one. All these options take very little time and are free.

Does sending marketing via email cost thousands? I'm on the Bulls database and received nothing through about the £5 offer for Salford. Why not get a mention on the T&A website, not everybody buys a paper copy, but if they know there will be a voucher in there they may do. Similarly have we looked into offering a voucher for a game with League Express? Sadler was very supportive of the club during our struggles last season. Groupon and other voucher type website have been utilised by other clubs, worth looking into?
As yet I haven't received anything regarding the half season ticket but perhaps that may happen in the next few days. I assume the Bulls will have a database of people who previously held season tickets to target. You might check the website on a regular basis but the casual supporter probably doesn't, I probably only look on it once a week.
A few weeks ago I received a random a4 application form through the post with some of details hand written on (incorrectly) but with no cover letter. It was an application form for the Bulls lottery but nowhere did it explain what the prizes were, how many draws there would be or basically any information you might like to know before joining. Now I took it upon myself to go online and fill in the blanks myself, so yes the marketing can certainly be improved without breaking the bank.

Hopefully they will push it hard, the players are doing their bit to make the marketing guys job that bit easier! That hasn't always been the case in the past!!

| Just bought one. I kid myself they get more money out of me when I don't, which was usually the case even in the cheaper years, but I'm guessing they're wanting a bit of cash flow right now.

"Rubbish"? Well, seemingly you would be the expert:
I said that all offers have been on the website. They have and this one has and is.
How is that "rubbish"?
I said a mailshot would cost at least a couple of grand. It would. How is that "rubbish"?
I asked what else they could do to communicate to " recent/regular supporters" that they don't already do?" You moronically profferred your marketing expertise with these suggestions -
a) Twitter- the offer was already tweeted,
b) Facebook - but the offer was already put up on the Facebook page,
c) Emails? Database? But they already use the database, muppet, I get emails from them regularly.
Oh, and they couldn't just make a free post on this forum, either, under the AUP official club advertising requires permission. In any case as the offer was posted in this very thread, a second thread would be a waste of time.
I said "this mantra of "better marketing" that people keep harping on about (by no means just at the Bulls) is just largely wishful thinking by people who know little about it". You are clearly a prime example of these sort of people. Here you are, pontificating about why don't they do this, and that, and t'other - when in fact they already do, and have done, and you didn't know, and couldn't be arrsed to check, before making a complete prat of yourself. So how stupid do you feel now?
I suggest you get back in your box, and learn some manners.

| So far this week I have received an e-mail from the club about the dine in the Coral offer being extended for the Wigan game, and notification of the new on-line ticket facility - so they seem to be getting the messaging out to registered fans at least.
Bit short notice to round up the crew for this Sunday's lunch - but if the club could confirm they will run this for the remaining home games I would certainly have a dabble.
I agree getting new punters to try out the Bulls is a big task, but trying to work on getting some former fans back probably has a better chance of success and we all know there are several thousand of them.

The offer was on the website in the store for a good couple of months, granted a couple of those weeks were after the deadline had finished but it was there for all to see.

Wow you really have got your knickers in a twist
You suggested that anyone who is looking for offers should ask! I was pointing out that these offers need to be correctly advertised so that people that might not be actively looking notice these offers, simple really.
The club have two of my email addresses, from pledging and being a season ticket holder for many years, up until this year. I never get any emails at all from the club to either email address, no offers or anything. I wonder how many more people are the same, it seems quite a lot.
I was suggesting Facebook, Twitter, forums, email drop etc as free marketing ideas, not necessarily relating to this one offer. A few weeks ago the club offered the discount on clothing after full time, something hardly anyone knew about, causing a lot of bad feeling, great marketing. People have also mentioned that there was a half season ticket available before the season started, which a lot of people also didn't know about. There is nothing stopping someone from the club having a private account and posting a link to offers when they are available on here and other forums, this offer may have been mentioned on here, but clearly many other haven't.
Do I feel silly for pointing out where the club is failing? No, no I don't.
