Hi All,

As some of you know, Little Miss Cookie (aka Nicole Bowers) has not been too well of late. We managed to get her out of hospital (she's in the LGI) for the Wigan game where we saw some of you, but then she went back in.

Anyway, long story short, she has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, which is wrapped around the top of her brain stem! She went for surgery on Tuesday - it lasted 18 hours - and is now very slowly recovering. She is still very poorly and is unable to speak or move much at the mo however the surgeon is pleased with how her recovery is going and we just need to give her a chance to get better.

One thing she did ask me was whether she would be going to the Warrington match! She was gutted that she won't be well enough

She's told me to tape all the Super League matches, Brian Carney's Men of Steel prog and any National League matches - she might be first & foremost a Bulls fan, but she loves her rugby league



Just wanted to let those of you who know her know how she is doing.

Very shocked to read this mate, especially as I've spoken with her a number of times in the past so it hits home a bit more. So glad she sounds like she's on the mend, albeit will be a long job. You all must have been worried to death.

Please accept my very sincere wishes for her full and speedy recovery. Hopefully, knowing she has everyone on here's best wishes will be some small comfort to her.

Certainly puts in perspective our own little moans and groans when there are youngsters battling such illness.

I've got two young girls, I can only imagine what its been like, all the best to you all, good to hear shes on the mend. Be sure to tell her everyone on here is thinking of her.

Does bring it home that there are far more important things in life to worry about than some of the trivial things we all tend to worry about each day, like how many warrington are going to score on sat...

I would hope that instead of a team talk on Saturday, Potter give each player a note with your post written on it and tells the players to show the same fight as LMC.

We'd win by 30 points if they did.

Out of the blue, I got a phone call from Stuart Duffy (yes, the real one) asking how Nicole was. Stuart immediately organised for the players to sign a shirt for her and said that if there is anything they can do to help, they would! We took the shirt to Nic and although she can barely move, her mouth dropped into a massive "0" and her hand flew up to her mouth in a sort of "I can't believe this" way and she said "thank you".

I found out later that Duckman had tipped Stuart off

to him. I know he will say he hasn't done much but what he started has pleased a lifelong Bulls fan so much at a very difficult time. Likewise, Stuart had no problem sorting the shirt (and some other things) out for Nic - not sure there are many organisations that would do this!

Sounds like you've got a brave brave little girl to be proud of there Cookie, I wish her a speedy recovery.

I've got two young daughters and one of them having anything more than a cold sends me into a mild panic. Simply cannot contemplate what's going on in your life. Stay strong for her if nothing else.

Glad the club have made a gesture. Might not seem too much in the grand scheme of things but shows they really do care and sure the nipper feels important and loved which can only help.

And, if anyone from the club does read this, if Little Miss Cookie is in hospital for a while can you ensure one or two players make an organised visit. You know it makes sense.
