| The last 20 mins we're a little strange for me. We started letting them up quickly at the PTB whilst they kept holding down as both sides had done all game so they started making yards, at the same time we went into full on one up rugby mode.
Over all we didn't deserve to lose and certainly that ironic last try flattered them 'Man of the match... Eribe Doro!' just as he misses a tackle on the line...
And to join in the Appo debate, he's either playing with an injury or he's leaving. Talk about blunted. Will probably come back to haunt us next year at Swinton along with Patton.

| The York try where they kicked early in the tackle count behind Arundal and Tindall to score was really well worked. The two kicks into the in-goal to trap DFJ were good too. Our last tackle kicking was really poor in comparison and we never built any pressure. When we did get the ball in a good position we dropped it let them off the hook with a poor end to the set. While Lilley was great in defence and never took a backward step his kicking in general play wasn't up to it and we missed Gaskell.
Wynne's not a fullback. Two dropped bombs and out of position for the York try in the corner.
I'd drop Appo for the next game, he's not right. He's not a lazy player so I suspect it's an injury. We have options to cover the backrow if needed.

| Agree it was a strange game. First half I thought we were really dominant but without it showing on the scoreboard.
Second half we totally fell away which was IMO a combination of poor attitude and poor refereeing (the policing of offside was probably some of the worst all season and I'd challenge any team to make yardage under the circumstances).
I think we have some players whose form is questionable... Wynne looks to be lacking in confidence and fitness, Appo and Wallace have been non-existent last 2-3 games and someone really needs to get Jowett to calm down. I love his enthusiasm but he's playing like an excitable puppy which is badly effecting his decision making (I never thought i'd hear myself calling for GFS to get back on the pitch to bring some calmness).
3rd place is still in our hands... win both games and we will secure a home tie. Lose both and we could well be out of the playoffs altogether.

| Agree about Jowitt. I don't think he's a Hooker, his distribution isn't great and has been a little bit greedy in all honesty by going for glory when it isn't the right play. Only listened on the radio yesterday but sounded like he went for a barge over try again and knocked on the first tackle.
If Gaskell is fit I be tempted to go
1.Jowitt
6. Gaskell
7. Holmes
9. Lilley
Jowitt was ear marked for FB in pre-season and I think he looks better there than at Hooker. Also think he's better there than Wynne who I think will make a decent player, but doesn't have the ball skills for FB and in all honesty, just looks like he needs a decent full pre-season under his belt.
We desperately need to sort our dummy half speed our though.

| I think Jowitt at hooker isn't something we'd have seen had Segeyaro not got injured. Needs must I guess and he looks like player who'd better suited somewhere else - it reminds me of when we played Robbie Paul at hooker. Neither him or Flanagan are even a medium term option as our dummy half and I think this area is the most important position we need to address in recruitment.
Jowitt did take some wrong options but then Flanagan did as well with that awful kick on the last in the first half. Our last tackle options really were poor.
On Wallace and Appo I do wonder if they're carrying injuries. Most players have a niggle by this stage of the season.
Wynne has played most of his rugby at centre I believe. I'd give him a run there and put Arundal in the back row. Myers on the wing for DFJ. Tindall on the other since it sounds like Blackmore may be out for a while with his back.
