Hope she can raise the funds for the nippa - it doesn't come cheap.
The nephew of someone I worked with has the same medical issue and, spookily, is also called Alex - Alexander Burland.
I know his parents / others have been campaigning hard to get the money together for his op. It may be worth your relatives while searching the web for "Alex Burland" (the usual places facebook / myspace / youtube et al) to see the sort of stuff that's been done to generate income - quite astounding. It may give her some ideas.
