| From what I read when he signed the extra year was in Laffranchi's favour, I suppose it depends on what the club offers a player for another year that makes the decision to stay or not.

Found it.
Seams to be in the clubs favour.
As a 2nd rower =#FF0000I'd keep him over Flash, but not as a prop.'"
I disagree.
Flash will give us far more service and is English so does not take a quota spot. I'd also assume that he will be on less money. I actually think he is a better player too (more importantly!).

| I'm not overly concerned with quota spots as I doubt most teams will fill the 5 spots anymore.
The money issue is a fair point, although I've not idea of the wage difference between Boof and Flash.
For me it's a straight toss up between them and I just think Laffranchi is the better player and only a short term measure.

| Between Flanagan and Laffranchi, it would be Flanagan for me. Money and quota spots aside, I think he's a better player all round.

Quota spots are going to be absolutely crucial. If we're getting Walsh then we'll need someone other than Perry to leave if we're going to sign anyone like Paea or Hanbury.

Either way, I can't see the point of filling a quota spot with a well paid and underforming player when we have a cheaper, British player who can do a similar job. Being up to the quota limit has really held us back over the last 18 months.

with these probably not retained we should have a decent whack to spend
possibly add Manu and Wheeler to that too, but i'd keep Manu for at least 1 more year, probably get offered 2 at Salford though

Might be a 1+1 deal, in a similar way to Walsh's 2+1 deal. They're usually in the players favour for Ozzies

| If lance goes and we still want a utility player I'd take Heremaia. He's always impressed me but doesn't seem to get a fair go at hull. He was on fire last year then was just dropped when Miller arrived.
Not sure on his age tho.

| I'd take Heremaia/Pelissier, Huby and Green. I wouldn't replace Laffranchi with a quota player, we've got more than enough from the youth system to cover him. I can see Wello, Laffranchi, Gardner, Forster, Wheeler and even Beaumont going in the winter. I'm not judging Beaumont because he obviously hasn't played, but from what I saw of him at Hull KR, he's behind Walker, Richards, Thompson and Greenwood.

Most hull fans feel very much heremaia should be put at hooker and stay there, so I'm not sure how much utility we'd get out of him...
I think pelissier would be a good shout. But I trust those at the club (cough Kieran cough) to identify the a top young hooker to bring in when they feel it's needed.
Huby is the standout prop on the list for me, with a few younger ones also being a decent call (though as I've said elsewhere I'd like a bit more experience)
No real quality 6s available in the list, so any replacement for lance will be from aus I feel.
(Yes some on the list will have player options/ team options for next year - I will take them out as and when they are taken up - there are also some young players on the list who I believe are still on youth contracts so are contracted for next year, including a few of our own)
