I would like to think that this is part of the build up to the announcement that was promised last week, and not something put out to shut us up.

At least it kept the work placement busy for a week.

We borrowed the bloke who calculates the win bonuses at Wire, he usually has a bit of spare time the weeks you play Wigan/Leeds/Saints.

The logo looks okay, a little more inspiring still like the Town's emblem best though.

Most people did like the towns crest although you cant copyright that , you can with your club logo such as this which is why superleague teams do it , i like it , new logo , new image , new stadium, Great stuff

just heard all legal documents signed off yesterday.

Lets hope for some people working on the site in the next 2 weeks then (if they have known since July 1st they have surely been planning in the back ground)

Gives 4-5 weeks at the end of the regular season if they have a good build but that is a pipedream, if as expected they run to 60 weeks as the play offs don't generate club income (cash pinched by the RFL and shared out at the end) it will probably kick off the 2012 season.

Still I'd rather the club make sure the contractor gets it just right rather than rushing to get 2/3 games in

At least some common sense today in the announcement from big favourite Big Mac that he was wrong in the programme notes last week, saying only the first few matches of the season would need to be played away from home, well he did not say he was wrong! but that St Helens RLFC will play next season's games at Widnes. That is common sense, the work on the new stadium has to be right and not just rushed.

How good full houses nearly at Hull and Wigan looked on TV, the KC stadium is such a good ground for atmosphere.

saints have had 2 full houses this season....did they look $h1t then?

Aren't we Jumpy! calm down - I was making more reference to the new stadiums! RL Clubs have rather then the decrepit current Knowsley Road, which everyone excepts! and not the context of full houses for games.

Warrington's ground is okay but nothing more, Wigan again okay but as I sad The KC is a Stadium! - now settle down and read next time - LOL

Will you be keeping the same groundsman (Is it still John Edwards?) for the new stadium or is it going to be outsourced? Hope you get a belter of a pitch to match the stadium.
Just some other Q's, are there going to be rock/music concerts & the like held there to bump up the income or is it solely going to be for St.Helens SL matches only? (You had SL, 21's, Academy & SH Town play on KR at one point)

The planning permission specifically states no music concerts allowed at the stadium.

Whether Saints will try to revoke that in the years ahead, who knows. However they would need apply for planning permission to hold such events.

You can apply for a temporary change of use at any time.

I take with a pinch of salt everything Big Mac ever says, I will wait to see if the Proof is in The Pudding! - it's a very high claim he makes, will it stand up??

Don't worry yourself FearTheVee I never go away, I am a rugby league supporter not just one club man! and I see faults when they are there unlike many!

Don't think there would be any interest in having concerts at a stadium of this size (let alone in St Helens). Bands would just do an Arena tour before moving up to proper stadium tours (Wembley, Old Trafford, etc).

Any way can we lock this thread there's no fun to be had any more.

Does it? When I asked if they were thinking of obtaining a music licence they said they weren't going to include it in the plans at that stage as they wanted things to be as simple as possible but they would consider it once the stadium is up and running.
