Lee Smith has hardly done all there is to do in RL.

To be perfectly honest I found that reassuring more than anything. The implication is that all parties want him to stay in RL and at Saints. It's just a part of the negotiation process. I'll be very surprised if Saints don't have an attractive offer ready for Kyle in the not too distant.

For a lad so young the only dream left for him is an outing at Wembley. Unless he ever thought he would be an international regular?

We can only put Eastmond in the 'potential' bracket for so long. He had a good Grand Final on a big stage. He's had another England call up and if he performs well on that international stage then his bargaining position will shoot up.

Maybe Saints should have tied him up 3 months ago when they had the chance, at a lower rate than he can negotiate now.

He's won 3 super league titles, won the harry sunderland, won the WCC and LLS.

Played for england on the biggest stage, and done alright.

Pretty much the only thing he hasn't done is won the CC.

Hopefully not the kind of outing that Jason Donovan was (falsely) subjected to

How many 4 nations and World cups does he have? How many young player of the year? How many Man of Steel awards? How many top scorer awards?

You need to remember that Rugby is a job for these guys and they dont get paid that well in league compared to union and most players are washed up by the time their 31-32 ish. Players need to be able to set themselves up for when they retire.

general opinion on our site is that he's going down south to be near a certain former tv star who has a starring role in the West End. His only RL option down there is Quins. Maybe he doesn't want to play against the Rhinos so he joined a union club. Maybe that is all rubbish and he did go fir the shedload of money he's meant be getting.

Either way Leeds fans understand it's his choice and wish him well.

By the way - as a pro RL player he has more backbone than any keyboard warrior on here. Just ask the Saints lads he's made monkeys of in recent Grand Finals if you doubt it!
