| i agree totally with this thread infact sometimes i cant be bothered to read some of the threads on here because some people are so stupid, mick potter is doing a fantastic job, wakefield was never going to be an easy win and to only loose by 2 points without any conversions was quite good in my opinion, am not down hearted one bit i would be if we had a full strength team out but with the injuries we had and the refs appauling display for both teams it was just one of those matchs i was quite happy to loose, tbh id rather loose a few more than go undefeated for so long like we did last year, was it 22 games or something then we got stung on the match that mattered

"To lose by only 2 points without any conversions" is quite bad not good in my opinion.
The point many people are making is that he should have had a half decent kicker in his 17, and the fact he didn't shows some dodgy judgement. Surely it was obvious that we would lose a tight game without someone who can put over reasonably easy conversions/penalties?
The critisism of St Potter relates to this match not his overall ability as a coach.
We should have won and would have done if he hadn't taken the risk of no kicker in the 17.

| Goal kickign has been woefull for a couple of years now, its bound to catch us out at some point. Cant blame Wello, the club believe he is the best option with longy and eastmond out. The whole night wasnt wello's night though, the passes didnt come off, the kicks didnt come off, oh how we wish he would have been taken off ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif) One of those nights "again" on we move, lets see if we can still be first place come the leeds game up at headingley. And pray for no more injuries, this business end of the season is turning into bad business.

| I'm not into either needlessly criticising a coach or blindly following him, so I'll criticise when I think it's due and praise when I think it's due. I have two criticisms of Potter last night: he chose/allowed Wellens to kick in the first place, based upon one week of practising (as he said on the red button show). We had a very strong wind out last night and it was a pressurised game. One week is not preparation enough. Secondly, if what I'm told is right and Lomax can kick, instead of taking Cunningham off (who should never have played) and putting Lomax on so he could take the pressure off Wellens after he had missed a few, Potter instead said he thought Wellens would 'eventually get one over'. Oh, and a third criticism is that he didn't protect Wellens to the Sky boys but instead gave the impression of protecting his own back, not the first time he's come across like that either.

I’m a fully fledged southstand member. Other than that I’ve probably been to Knowsley Road more times than a majority of your fans put together who only seem to turn up at Wembley and Old Trafford.

1. Just because you have a ticket doesn't mean you attend
2. EVERY team has a large number of 'fans' who attend finals who wouldn't normally attend the weekly rounds of Superleague. These are generally family members and friends of regular supporters who, quite rightly, view such an event as the great family occasion that they are. A day out to Wembley in the sunshine or in alot of cases a weekend or overnight stay in London is a great way to enjoy both time with family and friends and a superb showpiece sporting event. Maybe if your team had given you more opportunity to experience this you'd understand ![Cool icon_cool.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_cool.gif)

| Its mainly pubs doing coaches to the events. That’s the only way you’ll get fans in their droves at saints games. If you get the landlords to organise it for them!

| What people have got to realise is the club is battling on 2 fronts, superleague itself and the club finance footprint.
The B.O.D. are doing a fantastic job in creating financial security for the clubs future and are presently putting "the house in order" ready for the advent of the new stadium project.
They are also developing the team with home grown talent ready for when the overseas quota is reduced. The clubs who have manipulated 9 or 10 overseas players will struggle in 3 years time, where as Saints and a few other clubs will be ready. I should imagine Mick Potter had been fully briefed on this when signing his contract and we are already seeing how he is shaping the future.

I'm not so sure potter did know we would be losing longy, gilmour, cayless and maybe KC after his 1st year with no signs of any players coming in.

| I agree. I'm not too fussed about the result to be honest and i want Leeds to finish 1st! I'm sick of us finishing top and all the talking being about what we're gonna do at Old Trafford. Let Leeds go into Old Trafford as favourites and winners of the hub cap.
Onthe downside side i'm really concerned about our injuries. We look very jaded and with that we're picking up plenty of injuries. One more long term injury to one of our forwards and we're finished for this season.
We also need atleast 2 more signings for next season (2 props).

| Ha ha, awesome. I knew one day you'd all start to make threads about me. This thread doesn't even mention me at all, you just seem to be wanting to name things after me.
Oh go on then, if you all insist, they can name a stand after me at the new ground.

Well(o) said!
Kear has earned respect from me by defending Wello.
Contrary to Potter's half hearted effort to Sky, Kear went to Wello after the game and gave him his comiserations.
