Penny has scored 26 tries in 39 first team appearances. When you consider the last 5 or 6 games were when he was being used as a scapegoat for our abysmal coaching staff and his confidence was shot to bits i'd call those stats pretty impressive. The fact that saints fans are even discussing signing him shows the talent the lad has. I've nothing against our other wingers, but if we offered you penny or riley who would you take?

If it was either/or, I'd take Riley as he's better defensively [iand[/i has pace. Remember, you're on the Saints board. Our wingers' specialities are having no pace and giving away grand finals through worse defence than I have witnessed at under 10s level.

penny certainly has the raw speed that wingers need given time and good coaching he can become a success in the game i.m.o i dont see why saints or any other club for that matter dont give him a chance long term? christ how long has gardner been at saints????
