Wasn't haply with how he left Salford but hope he fulfils his potential with you lot.'"
It's been very easy for everyone to say he should have played from game one, but only the team will really know what he has been working on in Training and in the academy games.
I'm yet to see him play in the redvee as I've not seen any games for a few weeks. But we were close with Hull and just seemed to run out of steam.
It maybe that we are starting to find some form.

Much like Sean Long did, mate.
Luke Walsh seems to enjoy working the halves with him too.

Longy pulled out the kicks in the big games tho mate. Kicking is something you can work on and Theo is only young so has plenty of time to work on this. His kicking and running game was quality last night

| Talking of kicking, when was the last time you saw a Saints player put a chip kick over the defence then chase it, ok it didn't come off perfectly but it caused mayhem and it's good to see a bit of off the cuff rugby
I think last one was Lomax early last season or even the year before !!!

| He was fantastic last night and already has more try assists this season than the likes of Smith, Sutcliffe, Burrow, Gidley, Sneyd, Lui and Bosc despite playing second fiddle to Jordan Turner for half the season so far.
I think the important thing will be to not get too carried away. Long term i think he'll be a great player but for the next couple of seasons i'd imagine he'll have good games and not so good games, as youngsters do. Looks a great proposition for us in the next few years though. Hopefully he can avoid the injury curse that seems to be halting Lomax, Makinson and Percival's development in-particular.

| To be honest he's not bad but I do think he's being over hyped here and on Sky sports. I can recall some people saying similar things about Walsh, but that optimism has faded somewhat. But let's see how Fages goes over time.

The Walsh hype was justified initially. He was very good in his first year before the big injury. Sadly after the broken leg and ankle surgery, he has lost a yard and seems to be struggling with the physicality of the game and isn't the same player.

Walsh was front runner for Man of Steel until his bad injury, helps if he has settled partner instead of every Tom, Dick and Harry!

| I'd be a bit careful about going over the top about him just yet, but he's got potential to be very good.
And he's far better than Turner at 6 at the moment so picking him is a no brainer (and Turner is, amazingly, better at centre).

Agreed it's early days yet but it's a Long time since we've had a lively half-back so we're entitled to a few days of euphoria ☺☺☺

| Salford fan in peace:
I loved watching Theo last year as he was one of our own. However, he never blew my socks off. Last night howver, he looked class. He never did that in a Solly shirt, but looked the balls last night. One prob he has is he lacks pace, but if longy and Cunningham can get into him then it doesnt matter. Look and Tommy Martyn.
Hope he keep developing with you guys and helps the french team along the way

| Bulls fan here, thought Fages was very good last night. He looked good in all aspects of his game, a half back who can pass, kick, take the defence on, back himself to chip over and chase. He looks really good and hope he gets you back firing

| I'm not sure he has the explosive pace, like Long and Eastmond, to be top drawer. A couple of times he's had his nose in front of everyone only to be caught from behind.
He's coming along just fine, though, and if he continues to improve wemmight have a good player on our hands.

Maybe down to not have playing much game time and not being as Sharp as he'd like yet.
The fact he's making breaks is massive bonus as we don't have many who do

He's a halfback, he doesn't need explosive pace to be top drawer. Look at the best halfbacks in the last 15 or so years: Lockyer, Johns, Cronk, Thurston - would you say any of these have explosive pace? He is a threat running the ball and that is enough to keep the defence honest in a way that someone like Walsh doesn't. Theo needs to work on his passing a lot but he's got loads of potential.

| If he does not have the pace then that is down the FB to follow any breaks made and finish off. If swift was playing then I'm sure he would be waiting to latch on to any breaks that were made.

| Not very good against Catalan though. Caught with ball in hand far too often and wrong options when he did pass/kick. Still - Young with plenty of potential.
Luke Robinson made the comment last week in Interview that in the uk (as opposed to aus) young players -esp halves- are expected to come on as half back and take control of the team and be amazing- they aren't given time to develop like they are in aus where sometimes they don't make first grade until 23/24 years old. With a lack of a reserve grade over here that problem is further confounded.

I thought he was OK tonight - at least he didn't stop trying unlike a lot of other players.
There were no runners tonight apart from headless chicken LMS who insists on running back into traffic.
Fages has improved out HB issue 100%

Luke Gale is a prime example of a half who can make huge strides in their development past the age of 23/24. He was let go by Leeds and I think people saw him as pretty average at London and Bradford but at the right club playing under a good coach he's come on ten fold to the point were he's probably the best British halfback knocking about.
Plenty of Luke Gales will be lost from the game at 19/20 unless they're lucky enough to be picked up by another team.

| Luke Gale was never average at London, and he trained the Academy players as well as playing. Farage is young still, and you could see last night frustrated with himself at times, it needs a coach to bring him through, and there is not better that Long, I wonder what input KC really allows him?
