Wellens for Wilkin, my bad

It's not necessarily what I'd go with, but it's what I think Brown will go with.

The last few weeks have shown us the benefits of having pace at full-back and last week taught us that neither Wellens or Howarth is a half-back. LMS has been a joke recently. I also dont see the point in moving our nost dangerous centre for a while moved out to the wing. With that in mind I'd like to see:

LMS and one of Charnock/Howarth to miss out.

LMS aint gonna miss out regardless of form. We need all the experience we can get & lack size as it is. Forster & Charnock to miss out IMO. Brown has already stated Ashe will play in halves.

He's stated he will play, are you sure he has specified in the halves?

As for LMS, you'd expect him not to make mistakes and give away penalties given his "experience" but that isn't the case.

Personally would like to see Carl Forster play. He is a prop in the proper sense of the word, and not a converted backrower.


Looking at the squad it appears nathan brown is keeping his options open as to who plays were.

Best halves we've had for a few weeks!

Charnock/Ashe seems a lot better than Wellens/Howarth, if that's the right team.

Hopefully they can do well!

Greenwood and Forster aren't playing, don't know about the line up yet.

Any idea why on greenwood? Also on latest on manu's injury? Anyone else that should return soon?

Its a bit of a head scratcher for me why Forster hasn't featured, especially when everyone else and their dog has. He showed he could be pretty solid at SL level last year (which is positively marvellous for us at the minute).

So all of a sudden we have two young halves, both of whom have only played at most one game this season. Why on earth did Brown not play either of these when we had Wilkin on the pitch? Why did he go with Wello instead?

The odd desperate desire to Wello on the field at any cost ?

I'm amazed that lance is not playing in the halves this week.

The line up is subject to chance tho, Brown has changed it around a few times this year.

Does Charnock have a kicking game? If not it's all down to Howarth and Hohaia *grimace*.

I'm asking myself the same question really. I'd say it was a sign of desperation, but Wellens being put there was exactly that: desperate.

The only thing that I can think of is that we were building up towards the challenge cup tie, so we wanted some consistency, but now because we only have to think about September we can start to try these young players and see how they do? That's the only explanation that I can think of tbh!

I'd be happy with that, maybe Greenwood in for Clough.

From the little I know of charnock, he sounds like the star player who does a bit of everything in the kids teams as he was better than the others at everything (for instance, he was touted as a loose forward when signed, when in fact he was a fullback/standoff that apparently moved to the pack if the going got tough). That would imply that he''l have been given kicking duties in the past - whether he's a good enough to do it tomorrow is another matter.
In these situations, we [ishould[/i be beasting the london pack so much that he can play and kick in an armchair, unfortunatley, London will have a sniff of blood with us being so at the moment and fancy taking a decent scalp.

On people asking about Charnock, he kicks goals for the u19s and usually kicks well. Out of hand he's usually decent but didnt get much of a chance to show v salford

About what? I'd rather have Charnock and Ashe than Wellens and Howarth, and I like Greenwood offers more than Clough does.

For the most part it actually looks like players will be playing in their natural position so I'm quite pleased with the team considering the absences. Kicking game will be a bit of a worry but when has it not been recently?

Whatever team you put out it should be enough to beat a team that's yet to win a home game in the league this season!
