He is, Lance is doing nicely however to counter that slightly. One proper halfback today, even Wilkin and we'd be in front by now.
Pack doing it's job nicely, 50m made again there. Got to find a mistake or penalty soon.

| Surely Cunningham will have to dip into the reserves for Monday.
On this game, I don't see a try coming yet. Need a pie mistake.

| Sick of McIllorum attacking the standing leg. It's got to be outlawed quickly. Fine to grab and take them down, absolutely no need to be driving the shoulder into it though, so dangerous.

| What do we need to do to get a penalty? Makinson is tackle twice then, and Gelling goes back and tackles the next man with no attempt to get onside.
Another farcical call against us there, it's play on, punched out.

| Absolute joke! They are so far offside there it's unbelievable. He is ignoring everything. Have we had a single penalty this half? That last tackle crash over the ball carrier they were about four yards away when it's played.
Lucky buggers!

| One mistake near our own line. Game over. Tragedy is that our forwards did their job and got us plenty of territory. We just had no way of actually using the ball.
The injuries are killing us.

Aye, some people called for him to play at 6 fulltime! His passing should come with a health warning.

| Then we should do the same.
It's not the offsides which cost us this game. It's james green's foul on travis burns. Stick a real halfback on the field for us today, and we win. We can't carry on with this "stick anyone with legs in the halves". We need a halfback who can actually move the ball effectively.

| 8 - 2 on the penalty count to Wigan. We've not had a penalty since the 25th minute. 55 minutes without one. The effect of Eamon's midweek comments perhaps?

| Can't knock the effort and attitude of saints today. We tackled our hearts out but as expected our attack has been rubbish.
Two schoolboy mistakes has cost us scores today. The charge down on Turner resulting in their first try and roby losing track of the tackle count and giving it Richards on last tackle which gifted them the field position for their 2nd try.
Like I said, we just lacked a halfback as per usual.

Nothing they can do about that, bar bring the kids in from the academy. Very frustrating however, they are very average as far as Wigan sides go, I'd have us 20 up if we had two halfbacks.
How has George Williams got man of the match? One good kick? Hampshire was better.

| Maybe. Maybe not. But I don't think it was the deciding factor.
If we ever get Walsh and Burns on the pitch at the same time, though, with these forwards, then we'll be very hard to stop.

We get Walsh and Burns on the pitch at the same time and it'll be our forwards who all get injured.
I'm finding our swathes of injuries tiresome. They are ruining every season.

Apart from last season
Being serious tho, we ain't the only team that get injuries. Every team has them and some worse than orhers at different stages of the season. We having a bad one at the moment but that's rugby.
If you consider we had lomax, percy, burns, walsh, Wilkin and Vea missing today, we still had a decent team out. That team beats 70% of teams in super league Imo.

| Plenty to be positive about still. The pack is awesome and there was nothing in it, Wigan scoring from a charge down and a kick. Defense was outstanding, forwards were too. I thought Lance had a decent showing as well. It was about as good as was possible from us. We were reliant on Wigan having a bad day and to be fair they didn't. Their commitment was total and their line speed and numbers into the tackle were superb and ultimately what won it for them. I thought LMS had a great game, only really Richards who did anything wrong in the pack.
In terms of KC v Wane, Wane on points I feel today. He had to stop our pack and he did, the line speed was key. Had we had two halfbacks that tactic would have left acres of room on the fringes. KC couldn't really do anything about it as we just didn't have the men to do it.
The only question mark I'd raise today was Wello's selection. I can understand him playing when we've got a lot of injuries, but it was clear from the kick off that he was unable to make any kind of contribution to the game. When that kick was blocked he literally couldn't move. It meant we had Makinson defending the kicks at fullback until Wello went off, and we carried him like that until he went off. Are there really no backs in the academy that could play?

Wello needs a op. He put his hand up to play today as we was bodies down. Roby was same, he had painkilling injection to play.

No. They ruined last SEASON as well. They didn't ruin the Grand Final, fortunately. But I got very little joy out of watching a patched up team playing when we could have had so much better. I don't just live for the Grand Final like some fans do. I want to enjoy my rugby during the season as well.

We have had 'bad ones' since 2011. Every season including and since 2011 we have had swathes of injuries undermining us. And no, not every team has that degree of injury. Leeds don't, Warrington don't, Wigan don't, Huddersfield don't. It's the same teams each season: us, Widnes, Wakefield. Every season they get hit not by the odd one or two, which you would expect, but by numerous injuries and frankly I'm fed up of it. I don't believe it is anything to do with luck.

Fair play to him for that. But perhaps we should have gone with someone from the academy? They had Manfredi playing who is a relative newb and Hampshire too.
