I personally thought that it was just a solid but fair collision, but can understand how others may see it differently. At the end of the day those in attendance only got to see it the once, in real time and have not had the benefit of a replay.

The telling factor for me was the reaction of the saints players or lack of. Surely if they had suspected any foul play by O'meley then they would have been up in arms, but other than Graham having a word with the ref, there was simply no reaction from them indicating to me that they themselves felt the impact was fair and legal.

How people who did not attend or seen the incident can throw assumptions around is beyond me.

Listened on radio blunderside and they reported it that o'meley saw roby lining him up for a big hit so he raised his elbow. Hit him right on the lights out button was the phrase they used. They then tried to justify it by saying what else was he supposed to do. Now they are pretty rubbish commentators but that's how they saw it.

As for cheering an injured player you lot cheered Newton when he was obviously hurt when we were there. All teams do it.

If O'Meley was guilty of raising the elbow then he deserves a ban, but I honestly didn't see anything wrong.

From where i was in the East stand it looked like a fair hit but it is always hard to be 100% on anything without seeing it back on the replay. When he initial went down there was a huge cheer from us and rightly so however when it was clear that he was hurt that stopped. When he was escorted from the field he was clapped off by all supporters.

If he has gone in with the elbow then he will be banned and rightly so, but lets wait for video evidence first.
