I don't think anyone called Lash a superstar.

I'm not saying he is a superstar, just commenting on his junior career after watching (and often reffing) him for 8 years.

If I had a penny for everytime I have had to tell him to gently put down the player he was tackling I could afford to buy a pint at the LSV (and that is a lot of pennies!

No I do not! I just call it as I see it. At this level performances in the academy means absolutely nothing. It is the performances in the first team that count.

I support the lads to the hilt on the pitch, but if there play poorly or lack the ability or physique required to make it at Saints, I'm not scared of saying so.

I agree, everytime a young lad makes his debut there is talk of him being a superstar and the next "XYZ". Its embarrasing, and only causes trouble when the lad inevitably has a bad game, and the fans get on his back.

Steve Tyrer is the ultimate example of this.

Let the young lads come in at thier own pace - dont heap any more pressure on them before they even play for the first team.

Only by St Conroy, he did quickly take over Moore as he faltered, but it wasn't long before people realised Eastmond was going to eclipse him.Moore was bound to have high expectations, after all he was the youngest ever SL player when he made his debut and , to be fair to him, he seems to (rumour has it) have got things back on track over at fartown.

Tyrer was hailed a future great before he'd even debuted. I think most people learnt a lesson from that.

Ive played against Lomax, and hes quality.

Dont know if he's ready for SL yet, but there is no better way to test that than to play him tonight. Fair play to Potter for giving the youngsters a chance.
