I remember hearing about the Club presentations about the new ground in February, now the 20th?? but I'm sure your ne ver ending enthusiasm now for the 15th Match gives us all just Another deadline date to aim for and dream of!

I think their timeline is optimistic, and has so far proved to be way optimistic up to now. I'm sure we'll get to the new stadium eventually.

Next season could give the club serious income problems. Would you buy a season ticket knowing most of it will be in Widnes?

I think this is THE key point, they sold this years with the promise of chosing your seat in the new stadium, but if we only spend 4 games or so there i wont be renewing. I'm not a fair weather fan, it's just impractical for me to get to widnes every other week

Talking of how quick modern building are erected this day and age, went passed the old baths the other day it was flat apart from the new part that was built a few years ago, went past today there is steel work the size of a warehouse standing, they can put them up fast today.

The Doghead, I would say it is a bit strong to say I don't believe! it is more some of the handling of the PR beind this project, leaves a lot to be desired. With a report, it would read, could do better.

In my humblest of opinions, the PR has been just fine.

For years the "announcement on Friday" has come from the internet and people who have heard this and that.

The club have always been careful to issue when they can confirm, and when things are ready.

It is quite often the rumour mill which is so quick to spread online that causes the hysteria.

I do agree with you Ski about the "rumour mill" but it was The Club that stated most clearly that in February they would be holding presentations/meetings finally to supporters about the new stadium.

You must live in a parallel universe Ski. The club have consistently issued statements that contain overly optimistic timelines. That is where the dissapointment is born.

I do know that the club is working on these meetings for the fans, but the info required by the club might not yet be available to them.

why have a meeting if they have nothing to tell us? unless any of us fans want to fund the club like uncle emmon is out of our own pocket while we move, i think we owe him some trust

The question "Saint Simon" should read why tell everyone in the local press there will be meeting in February? if there are delays why can't they be honest and hold their hands up and say, we are Sorry the meetings promised for February are delayed we hope to have them in ??????

who cares? seriously the only one really losing out by any delay is emmon and his fellow directors who will take the financial hit. In Emmon I trust.

I think the original announcements were a touch over optimistic, however anyone with a bit of sense knows that there are likely to be delays. Firm information was never announced about them, just that there would be some at some point.

We know that there have been delays, we don't know what those delays are. Perhaps the people involved don't want every action in the process declared publically due to commercial interests? We know the tenders went out, we don't know the results.

Why do you want the club to apologise for something that in all likelyhood will be beyond their control? And by saying the exact thing you are complaining about them doing?

It was only a few weeks back in January in the local free sheets, following people wanting to know what was happening and why supporters and the public were not being kept in touch, that the Club announced they would stage meetings/presentations in February!

I would agree. However, it would be nice to know when these meetings the club said would happen in February are actually going to happen, given that they are clearly not going to happen in February.

It is a bit off putting to have dates given to us by the club only to watch the dates pass by and only silence from the club. It's starting to look like there are some problems.

Totally agree.It seems we've been moving to a new ground/rebuilding KR since I was a kid.I'm happy to just leave them to get on with it and look forward to watching the first match there(assuming I don't drop dead first

Ah thats good, cos I was getting the impression that you were rather enjoying the whole no news Is bad news type message.

But if they don't know when, how can they give further dates without opening themselves up for further criticism if they don't happen? I'd prefer them to come out and something along the lines of 'there have been delays beyond their control and more information will be forthcoming as soon as they get it'


I do however agree that they should have given us fair warning that the original meetings wouldn't be happening. However, this isn't the first time that communications from the club have been criticised, nor I suspect, will it be the last
