My comment about Eddie Waring is crass, well substantiate your claim, was that when he was still at the BBC? Eddie Waring did more for the game of Rugby League he saved the game after the war, French never even touches him, but as I said Eddie went on too long on air. All the claims of the success of French are purely ones he has made financial gain from.

Yes. Did you not see the wonderful programme about Eddie Waring that was shown on BBC4 a couple of months back? He had developed dementia while still working for the BBC. Your comment was crass.


What tosh. Eddie Waring did great things for rugby league but Ray French has done just as much for the game. For instance, it's largely thanks to Ray French that league is no longer banned in schools and the forces, etc. He challenged in court the policy held by the RFU whereby schoolboys were banned from playing union if they had previously played league. He won and the ban was lifted. That began the movement towards freedom to play both codes. I'd say that was a significant thing there that he did for league, wouldn't you?

You keep harping on about the TV as if that was the only thing Ray French did. If that is what you think then you really are ignorant.

Yes French has wrote books, so did Eddie Waring and a superb yearly annual which my Dad passed on to me when I was younger.

I stand by my comment that Eddie Waring did much more for the game than ever Mr French has and will!

You clearly didn't read the bit where I said that Ray French took the authorities to court to enable boys who had played RL to be allowed to play RU, which is in exact opposition to what you said about Ray French threatening school boys about which code they played.

You just have a problem with Ray French for some reason. Yet you don't know anything about him except that he has commentated on the TV.

I was involved with the situation were Ray French Threatened Boy's who played Under 16 Rugby League, they would be Banned from playing for the school, I did not read it like you seem to do and know think you know everything, so Mr French at that time was Completely Two Faced! and that is Fact and Truth!

Anyway, there's a difference between "threatening" schoolchildren, and informing them of a school's policy (which he may not have had anything to do with devising or implementing, particularly given what SaintsFan has pointed out about his court case)).

NO! at that time Cowley only played UNION! and Mr French would not allow boys to play RUGBY LEAGUE, if they did they were Threatened they would not be selected for the school, yes it did frighten some boys, but others played on for us, West Park which was as strong playing Union never had such anti freedom of choice rules, players like Andy Platt played for the team I ran!

So this strengthens his case for Services to Rugby League?? What a Joker! - Wake Up and smell the coffee will you, so many just close their eyes to Truth and Fact!

As I just said to the previous poster for some reason you just choose to close you eyes to The Truth, how do you know you are right when this was a dispute between myself a colleague, the boys involved and Mr French? were you privy at the time to our discussions and heated debates? please tell Mr Know it All!

I am not bitter against Mr French, as I have said from the start The Honours System should be more about people who do good works voluntarily and no financing gain of any kind, also those that are Heroes! and they are not TV, Soap Stars or Sports peoplel but ones who make great sacrifices in life.

Propogandas, how do you provide proof of conversations please? I know and I am trained in media be it internet and legal precedents, the fact is Under 16 schoolboy's at Cowley at that time wanted to play rugby league, they should have been allowed the freedom to make that choice and their parents! not be told they Would not play for the school if they did, as I pointed out staff at that time at West Park were even more close to Union but never once objected and we even assisted them when possible, ie again Andy Platt played for us with about 4 other players from West Park because it was the game of the town they were born and brought up in!

I dont know, thats upto you, but at the moment you are putting the RLFANS website at risk with these libellous accusations.
