I realise the topic is essentially over but I feel I have to pick you up on a few things Dave and set some facts straight for everyone.



#1. Ski doesn't have a 'team', with the upmost respect to him he was essentially made redundant in relation to the forum side of the-entertainers following the well documented events of 2008. His official input is limited to the subsite which, as his pet project, he runs how he likes with what time he can spare hence its transformation into the blog form it has taken this season.

Unfortunately due to the forum side of things being the reason people generally come here I would suggest that the subsite is rarely visited directly (certainly much less comparatively to the main redvee site) unless Ski updates it with a new blog piece and notifies us in a post. As such it is certainly not a case of the 'team' not lifting a finger to help but rather our help not being needed or for that matter necessarily wanted, or at least this is how it has appeared to me since I became a mod here.



2. In terms of people knocking everything everyone writes goes, this is a odd one, I'm assuming first of all that you mean in terms of articles or those occasional rather more indepth, debate provoking postings. What's odd about that is that surely this is down to the specific audience, and therein lies a bit of a paradox (of some such scientific thingy), as Redvee allegedly drained most of the existing Saints audience from RLfans with the split, many knockers from that section of readers will surely have just transfered too? And as for fans from other clubs who knocked... would you honestly expect anything less from the vocal majority?

Ski's blog has gone down very well this season and I don't recall many knockers tbh but then as I state above most people come here directly to the forum and many won't even be aware that there is a specific www. site.



3. Actually we've done a pretty brisk trade since the split and after removing some of the more annoying and persistant wigan trolls we gained some more regular vocal posters. We have of course suffered with much of the gobby southstand contingent of late but I know Redvee has not been entirely immune to that either and given the clubs rivalries it is to be expected and much as it pains me to say it they do occasionally stimulate some interesting debate.

To be honest as a regular reader of both sites it is very rare I find a thread on Redvee that doesn't have a similar topic on here, we even sometimes get the ball rolling first! Personally I like having the opportunity to choose and enjoy both sites and as such don't like to get involved in such... one-up-manship squabbles that I have bear witness to down the years, especially when I have seen 'team' members from both sites work well together over the morrisons affair etc.

At the end of the day we all support the same team and enjoy reading and debating about them, heck we even stand side by side at the games and share the same coaches. I'm with Hitch on this, lets just hug it out and let digital bygones be digital bygones.

Fair play chaps. Let's all feel the love and move on but there a couple of things I need to say.



For one, I think the two sites are different and that's the way I like it. One forum is a home for Saints fans to debate amongst each other, without fear of threads being de-railed by trolls and one is where you can have sensible debate with fans of other clubs.

It's time we all realised (me included) that the two boards can cohabit, side by side and the bitching that goes on does nobody any favours.

For clarity, the hump was not taken because of things that were said per se. If the same posts had been put on Redvee, I'd have taken it with a pinch of salt. However, previous experience tells me posters put these comments on RL Fans in the knowledge that all the disciples will join ranks and all have a good snidey dig together.

There is an element on here who cannot resist putting the boot into Redvee purely because we had the temerity to leave the Mother Ship. For instance, why did the OP bother to start a thread in the first place because if we were that poor in comparison, why would he be bothered, or was it simply an excuse to start a thread so the bretheren can all chip in with a pop, as as happened every time it's got a mention before? And quite why the likes of Rogues Gallery continually have to put in such sly digs, when the place should hold no interest for them, is beyond my comprehension.

Anyway, I've got that off my chest now, so let's take both sides of the argument on board, move on and live together.

I think you will find, its the redvee lot that take cheap pops at RLFANS, at least that was my experience before I left Redvee. I cant remember anyone on here taking these pops at Redvee

i'm on both, but prefer the forums here for the banter with other clubs' fans and the website of redvee which has some great articles and info (injury update for one). IMO redvee is a considerably better website than the clubs own.

You've already slapped in a couple yourself.



Happens every time we have one of the "Redvee is down" threads which, unfortunately, for one reason or another, have happened on more than one occasion of late.

Admittedly, we had one when RL Fans went down a year or so ago that got a bit silly.

Personally, I don't see why anyone would start a "Redvee is down" thread on a completely different site if it wasn't an excuse for a vehicle for a "if you all hate Redvee, type here" kind of thread.

If anyone doesn't like it, just ignore it. The less riff-raff the better, in my book.



I think we Saints fans are very lucky in that we have a forum such as this, where we can mingle with the supporters of other clubs and have cross debate but we also have a forum where Saints fans can just thrash things out amongst themselves without the fear of gloaters putting the boot in.

There is definitely room for both forums. Whether there is room for two websites themselves, I suspect there probably isn't.

In my honest opinion, a merger of the Redvee and Entertainers websites would be the best for everyone but with the forums kept seperate, as they are, so everyone still gets to go on which ever one they prefer.

I post on both and would like to thank those who run both sites for the effort and time they put in.

It happens both ways. Personally, I don't care either way as I use both sites. I just laugh at threads such as this, it is hilarious to see such bitterness towards a website.

And I'm even more critical of the equivalent Wigan site.

I don't have a go at the site owners and agree that the amount of time and effort that goes into them deserves praise.

I know utter jack about creating and maintaining a website, so that wouldn't be a bad move in my opinion!

I didn't know it had evolved to being this bad to be honest, I'm pretty shocked at the thread, maybe I've been living in a bubble for the past eight years or so!



I prefer this forum because of the good banter with other fans (yes, even Rogues from time to time) and bar the odd clown it usually is just that, but I still browse and occasionally post on RedVee. A fan site really isn't worth such bitter rivalry!

You're right, the likes of Dave and Bert (alongside the heroic efforts of Doogal) do command more credit and respect. Sadly, experience tells me few people ever give them it and their work is taking for granted with incidents of shafting common place.

I wont comment on Dougal but when you say 'services to the fans' I hate to spoil the illusion but they do it for the money. Seriously nobody would go to the lengths and hassle they do for the honour of it ! That is not a criticism by the way and yes they do a great job of it.

2 of those 3 are making money for themselves with their work. DD has spent a great deal of his own time doing things for Saints / Saints fans at for no profit of his own. He is easily in that bracket.
