To be fair, he did get a few starts this season, unfortunately, his performances failed to live up to the reputation me managed to put together during his many years of injury.

You never know what might happen with a change of coach, but Wheeler's future looks bleak right now. Our half backs aren't great, yet he's 4th in line (maybe 5th in line if Rush favours Wilkin) and he's 3rd choice at Centre. Like Jamie Foster, you just can't see a way in right now and I can see a loan spell on the cards at some point.

So, are we classing Manu and Turner as our 'marquee signings' for next season? Really?

I'm told we have a marquee signing either to announce or finalise.

I've heard we're also looking at a centre, I don't know whether this is the same one or in addition to the 'marquee' signing.

Not that I'd claim to be concrete to be honest. I was told a name last week but it's since turned out that it's now unlikely to happen so I think there's a lot of smoke and mirrors going on. Not sure about the centre as not heard that - it was rumoured on here a while ago though along with a winger I think.

I really hope we're giving serious consideration to Omari Caro. He was highlighted by Phil Clarke on Boots n all this week for his performance against Catalans. Hard working, fast as lightning and seems to have that natural athletic talent that can make a player exceptional. He seems a perfect Brown project to me, building up the other areas of his game.

What are these marquee signings that people keep talking about? Those days are long gone. The last ones were Jamie Lyon and Trent Barrett about six years ago. We are in the age of the salary cap and marquee players come from growing your own.

I am still awaiting the promised announcement of this season's marquee signing to grace the new ground.

Marquee signings don't have to be from the NRL. Would Danny Brough be big enough to be classed in that category?

I don't see us making any more signings. We've consistenty reduced the quality of the squad each season, be it in terms of quality of players in and out or volume. That won't change and I can only think of Flannery and Dixon who are leaving this season, so I don't think we'll do any more business bar possibly shedding 2 or 3 like Gaskell, Wheeler and Foster.

If we had any ambition we'd be cutting Meli and Wello and replacing them with backs from outside the club.
