Hold on a minute.. We dont have the attacking threat?! But yet we have put 38 past Crusaders, 32 past KR, 58 past Catalan, 48 past FC, 38 past Cas, 24 past Leeds and 18 past you men.. And to add we have a +182 points difference.. It's not how you beat teams, its the beating of teams and you can only beat the team that is infront of you on the day.. We are top of the league for a reason.

You are top of the league after 9 games. It doesn't matter at all. It's form in the PLAYOFFS that win you SL trophies. You lot are talking like it's already won and how your side is 'superb' and 'dominant'. They were rubbish today, way, way off what a SL winning side needs to be. You put scores on a few sides at home? So what? Huddersfield put a ridiculous scoreline on Wakefield and that doesn't stop them being Huddersfield does it?

If you have scored the most tries in SL and have won the SL trophy in October I'll admit I'm wrong. I suggest you all bookmark this post now so you can all have it in your signatures WHEN, not if, WHEN it happens.

I think wigan attack pretty good. When they move the ball wide they look a threat everytime. The movement and dummy running when they move the ball wide is very good.

Maybe potter should watch and learn. They didn't have much field postion in the 2nd half but that was down to good defence by saints and lack of good gp forward but when they did move the ball it was free flowing.

Put it the way, if wigan was camped on our line for 30mins like we was on there line, it would have been a much bigger win for the pies.

To say Wigan has no attacking threat is quite funny. It was pouring down the entire game, a local derby away from home and we were put on our own line time and time again by giving away penalties in the second half. We are the leagues top points scorers but on Friday our defence won us the game

Yea, apart from having the 2 top try scoring wingers in the league in Richards and Roberts.........

We played well within ourselves yesterday. The rain probably did its bit in bringing us down to your level.

I love how Wigan fans are now convinced they are clearly better than we are. It's hillarious. 9 games into the season with the same players you had last year and suddenly Wigan are unbeatable.

And how many did you score with all yours?

In all seriousness though, despite your initial post about our lack of attacking options, the one thing we undoubtedly have over you at the moment is pace. We still need to develop a winning mentality, that takes time, but I was never really worried yesterday unless you were in our 20 metre area and it's a while since I have been able to say that about saints.

I do yes, it means we played close to the ruck, controlled the ball reasonably well and completed more sets than you.

Two, same as you, but we aren't claiming to be world beaters! Of course we also crossed the line two more times but our own ineptitude kept us from exploiting those chances (one of them right under the sticks). And then, of course, we were held up twice as well. That doesn't sound like a bad attack to me, even if it was misfiring. So even a misfiring attack without any attack threats (according to Wigan fans) can threaten your line six times, mostly in one half. Amazing really, especially considering you have the world's best defence!

Hey, even Salford on a bad night, bless them, could have completed more sets than us yesterday! That had nothing to do with the conditions. We had no composure at all.

I can sort of see where saddened comes from when he says you don't yet have the attacking threat to win super league.

Putting scores on average teams means nothing, playoffs and grand final are a whole different ball game.

I think what saddened was getting at is you lack a player/players to unlock the tough defences when it counts.

Considering you have fallen at the FE 3 years on the trot that's not a wholly inaccurate comment.

The reason leeds have won 3 on the trot is because they have the strike players able to post the scores when it matters against tight defences.

I guess people aren't yet convinced wigan have that. Afterall you have the same players as last season. A new coach can provide better motivation and drills but he can't give players that.

I think when some people look at wigan so far this season, they see more of a workmanlike team than a star quality class team.

I like how you include 'put 24 past leeds' in that.

If the roles had been reversed leeds would have scored alot more than 24 points.

I don't think he meant you have NO attacking threat I think he meant you don't have the ability to unlock tight defences in the big games.

Someone said earlier in the thread that wigan have good wide moves with dummy runners and look a threat when they go wide, but those type of plays get shut straight down in the playoffs and grand final.

That is your opinoin, but, we have had 2 of the so called big games in wire and saints this season and won them both

Interestingly, on both occasions you won because your opposition dropped the ball at a crucial moment, without any help from you! I wouldn't be so quick to gloat about your win of either match. Yes, they got you four points but it means that both Wire and Saints are a lot closer to you, and therefore pose a greater threat to you, than you are giving either credit for. That will be your downfall and to our advantage, come the useful end of the season. When Leeds get back up and running, you'll have them to worry about as well because you beat them too and think you did a fine job on that one also!

Wigan are not the leading try scorers.
