Probably but I think the North can get away with it,If they do the corners at both ends.

When did they change their mind on doing the North, the last plans I saw had the North being done as well

When it was all costed? Who knows. Wasn't the concourse of the North Stand dry for the training session? I seem to remember that the West Stand concourse was wet, especially the corner with the North Stand, and the same for the NE corner too. If they clad the corners along with the two ends then that should result in nobody getting wet. Since exposure to the elements was the reason given by Saints for doing the cladding in the first place then that would sort the problem. I suppose the club won't be cash rich enough to clad a stand just for aesthetic reasons.

Well its still a great stadium and I agree with the clubs priority to do the West Stand Cladding as the main priority

I think it's been a problem thats occured as the stadium build has gone on, the original design was given as a HALO effect, well this clearly hasnt worked, for all the great idea behind it.
So the designers have had to improvise, but I guess money is the key and if the money runs out after the ends are done then so be it. Lets face it, Those of us who have stood in Batley on a cold January night with hailstones pelting down would be happy with and kind of covering never mind a bit of a gap at the back of the stands.....
I'm in the South Stand by the way, nice and warm and draft free.......

The North Stand concourse was wet for about 20 yards in from the West stand during the training night, also seating was wet in the West corner of the North stand. Both ends of the North stand will get wet without cladding make no mistake about that. why the U turn, would love to hear the reason.

| On a slightly different topic, I asked about being able to wonder round the ground as at the open day. eg a West stander could go and have a chat with a north stander at half time.
This is off the menu for safety regulations. I remember something along the lines of crowd zoning being mentioned, Specific areas having safe capacities and if they allow people free wander then an area may get overpopulated.
So if your in the North stand you stay in the North stand.
Interestingly though the West stand has a shared entrance with the South stand. So looks like South and West will be allowed to mingle as presumably this is classed as a single spectator zone.

| Maybe they meant the North would not be clad to the top as the plans clearly show it isn't.

No Mr Big was very clear on the fact that the North was not being clad, only doing both ends, and that they wont be done to the top. Reason both ends being done is that they are the ones most exposed to the weather.

Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield; weather protection is vastly overrated.
Does anybody with a historical knowledge of the scheme know how the completed design compares with planning submission?

In the whole of last season there was just one match when I would have been grateful for airy bars! It was the coldest summer in years. If only we could know that during the summer we would have 20 plus degree warmth!

You were right but how you knew I can only speculate as "Also discussed the roof, apparently the first roofgate scandal was caused by the damaged section not being fitted properly".
So if the first roofgate was poor workmanship, how did you know for sure the second one was different?

| Not happy about the north stand not getting cladding as it was wet in the concourse when I was there and also the last half dozen rows near the corner were soaking.
I suppose, they are seeing if they can get away with it and if it gets very wet a lot of the time, they would no doubt re-visit it.
