Were not going this year because of the drinking. You get people drinking from dinner time, right up until kick off, and it just causes so much trouble. The sooner they change the kick off to early afternoon, the better. We saw plenty of people drinking in their seats last year too.

Hideous over-reaction. You get the odd isolated incident out of 70,000 people, that's it.

If you walked out in the streets of your local city with 70,000 people about, you would expect to see the same.

You can walk away from d*ckheads in the street - you don't have to sit next to them for an hour and a half.

My dad is a die hard Saints fan and the behaviour of many (not as small a minority as some would have you think) puts him off going to the GF. He goes to every other game home and away pretty much.

Having said all that, my train gets in from Guildford just after midday and I'll be straight off to the pub

My Saints supporting brother in law and partner (both season ticket holders) have taken the same stance. It's pitiful that good honest supporters are driven away from big games by these numbnuts.

Heard that the rozzers have banned fans from "drinking beer from anywhere you can see the pitch" on Saturday. Bang goes the plans for Syd sat in his padded seat with a 2 pint pot in each hand.

Given events on Sunday at HJ, I cant say Im surprised but its bad news that, effectively we are being treated like the football fans. A real shame.

Hope it is enforced to the letter this year.I've had enough of idiots spilling or through ale all over the place and having to get up every 5 minutes for someone to go the bar.

we are being treated like football fans because,some have behaved like football fans.anyway suits me,i might be able to sit down for 40 mins without people going past me for beer,then sit down for a further 40 mins without the same people going past me to go the toilet

Can't say it bothers me too much, I don't usually drink heavily before games and it might mean that I have to shovel down the couple that I get at the ground, but the rugby is the draw for me at the end of the day.

No bother to me, never fussed if I get an ale in the ground, the queues are off putting and the ale is usualy pants and expensive. Quite happy to let me pals queue up and buy me one though, but hate doing it myself !

We all have plenty of time before and after the game to sink a few beers, wines, spirits, hopefully I will be ram jammed full with ale AFTERWARDS as I celebrate a lovely GF victory , the last 3 losses has seen me probably just go home and get into some dry clothes, have a cup of hot milk and then bed

I'll be taking my bottles of coke, vodka miniatures and spare lids with me like i do every year.

Tampon boxes are the perfect size to put the vodka in and if you go to a male steward, they get all flustered when they spot it and let you go on your way, specially if they are young

Was in the leeds end last year, thanks to my wire mates having a jealous joke on me. Everyone was drinking there at the seats and no problem whatsoever - just medium to severe abuse from the leeds fans; probably would have been worse if we had won!

here here. but i know i will be sat near some moron that aint been to a game in 20 years and is shouting rubbish all through the game,getting most of the players names wrong in the process
