How can that happen when leeds tykes share with leeds rlfc, london irish share with reading fc, sarcens share with watford and wasps share with wycombe. I know the bristol ru club share with the small bristol football side.

There are already 3 Union clubs in St. Helens and they are hardly pulling in the crowds, why do they think a fourt would?

I'd have no problem at all with Sale playing at our ground, provided it was on the basis of a very unambiguous landlord/tenant relationship. It's an example of the kind of financial opportunity that the new stadium is going to provide.

If we get Dave Wheelan to draft the tenancy contract, we will be laughing.

I have 2 gripes with this;

1. the way union scrums shred the pitch in wet weather

2. the season overlap which must be about 4 months in total

Given that the seasons overlap when the weather's at its worst I think our lovely new pitch will get trashed.

They've caused havoc with Stockport County, I'm not sure I want them anywhere near Saints.

If you loved the club so much, you would put your differences with the other code aside and accept much needed revenue from another source, maenwhile, looking at the potential extra benefits it would hold for Saints.

Listen mate I have watched Saints for over 30 years and yes I can understand where you are coming from but saying that I would rather Saints got a Premier League reserve side at the new stadium than a union side and I admit it is a personal thing.

Now, put it like this. What coverage would Sale playing at the new stadium get? Several televised Premiership games, several televised European games. A wealth of regular businessmen and women through the hospitality (and believe me, Union hospitally is the shizznizz) suites, potentially wanting themselves to invest regularly in the experience (possibly sampling St Helens RLFC). Regular crowds of a decent, although probably not excellent standard, but who have an interest in rugby, and may be tempted to sample St Helens RLFC.

A Premiership Reserve team would bring a few blokes, some coaches and 11 ponces running around on short turf cutting it to shreds.

Like I said, personal differences aside time and look to the best interest of the club you love.

I'm not sure where they will get anything like decent crowds from to be honest.

Could you imagine the crowds we would get if the likes of say Liverpool reserves played against Man Utd and Everton.
There are a lot of football fans in St.Helens who support Liverpool,Utd etc so I think that would top the likes of Sale,Leicester,even the reserve games.

So you;d sacrifice consistency for two or three games? And also the inevitable trouble that comes with it. IIRC, the HJ host Liverpool reserves, and they had nothing but trouble a couple of years ago.

There will be a definate lack of interest in St Helens - jeez its hard enough getting the public off their ar5e to watch Saints when they have been top of the tree. I know I for one wouldnt be remotely interested. Not sure that masses will follow over from Sale if they make a move - are their current crowds particularly big ?

They are averaging about 6,000 I think and I went on the Sale forum and a lot of them said they would not go to watch them if they came to St.Helens so what would their average crowds be like then,4,000 tops if that.

So you reckon that Liverpool playing the likes of Utd,City,Everton,Chelsea,Arsenal etc would only attract 300 football fans,don't think so mate more like probably 3-4 thousand.
