Besides, if you wish to persist that "living in Merseyside makes you a Scouser", then both Warrington and Widnes are far more "Merseyside" than St Helens is. Warrington is "by the side of the river Mersey" as the river actually runs through the Town, whilst Widnes sits on the bank of the Mersey too....

If, as your fellow Wire states, that living in a "made-up" administrative borough of Merseyside is enough to make Scouse - then actually living by the side of the River Mersey ie geographically living on Merseyside, must, by definition, make you a scouser too.
So, by *his* definition, Stockport residents are Scousers too.
This just further highlilghts the ludicrousness and uneducated buffoonery of calling *anybody* who is not actually from Liverpool, scouse.
