I didn't think stands normally attracted sponsorship because it's the ground (not the stands) that appears in the media. Are any of the DW or HJ stands named? I know one at the Reebok is because I was in the BEN stand when we last won the WCC.

Wigan have the Boston & Springfield Stands IIRC, there was also a brief campaign to have the North Stand named after Dean Bell.

Who was Ellaby? Never heard of him.

I would imagine Cunningham and Murphy would have to have their own stands although since Cunningham has his own statue, we may be spoiling him to name a stand after him as well. But he is a legend so perhaps that's ok.

Sale Sharks will be playing games at the LSV in a few years time, we should have gone after these extra games as we need to use the ground all year round to make it pay.

Sorry didn't know that we are so cash rich that we can afford to run the new ground on 13 games a year.

I'm sure they factored that into the decision to actually build it. We've been running a stadium on just Saints games for the majority of the clubs history.

There is the option of a Premier League reserve side playing there.And I think other uses for the ground have already been muted, such as using it as a corporate venue for meetings and seminars and renting space to education groups and the NHS like Warrington do with their facility.

At Warrington as well as Halliwell Jones, we have the Martin Dawes East Stand, the Prime Time South Stand, and the something or other West Stand, so yes individual stands are names.

They also are at Wigan, Hudds, Bradford, Leeds, Hull etc.

It has a certain ring to it does that!!

I'd certainly take that over the Dave Whelan Stadium (poorly scrawled on the seats) and a stand named after our landlord's old ground.
