| you can see the hope in the pies hearts that not getting to Wembley will hit Saints hard and cause the new stadium construction to fail.
They have of course not mentioned the losses their club continues to rack up on a smaller turnover than Saints despite having supposedly larger crowds.

Nor have they mentioned that our average attendance is roughly 1,000 up on last year which equates to something in the order of an extra £225,000 over the course of the season.

| Quote ="The Blockhead"The problem with fixed price contracts comes when the economy struggles - If the firm involved cant afford to go ahead at the fixed price what can you do? two options - 1. try to enforce the contract and company will just go into receivership. 2. Wait and ride out the economic storm.....either way, it is a potential issue in the medium/short term.'"
Taylor Wimpey have been squealing about the £8 million given that the value of KR has gone down due to the credit crunch. However, that's the deal and so far as I'm aware, we're sticking to it. After all, what would happen if the value rose above the £8 million? Would Saints be allowed to re-write the contract? Nope!
Everyone knows Taylor Wimpey sailed close to the belly up wind during the early part of this year. I think their troubles were the likely cause of the delays to the work starting, though that's pure speculation on my part. Either way, since things are now looking a little brighter on the housing and stock market side of life, perhaps by the time the show gets on the road the purchase of KR will once again look like a tasty morsel of profit to Taylor Wimpey.
We can but hope, anyway.

| Somewhere in the plans that where on show at the Town Hall it said, that the new stadium would bring in £1.8 million to the club and close on £4 million to the town, a year.

In terms of the town, its position is the most important thing. Walking distance of the town centre. Local pubs eyes must have filled with £ when they heard of the positioning.
Makes you wonder what will become of the Black Bull

Of course, they'll swear blind that they want to see Saints get a new stadium 'for the good of the game' though.
The thing is, for many fans, during our period of dominance, all they have had to cling to is our financial situation or allegations of tax loopholes, salary cap breaches and cheating. It has been their silver lining.
