Finishing top only counts for something when they award you the Championship for it, they don't in SL.

It means nothing if you don't win the GF.

One Superleague title in six years should tell a lot of people on here that Saints are NOT the great team that many believe they are.

Norvern_Soul is correct. Winning the league means absolutely nothing at this moment in time. The merits of this are for another discussion. If we go into the season all guns blazing and finish first in the regular season but are burnt out and bottle the play-offs then we have ourselves to blame. We know the system before the season as does everybody else.

Leeds are the champions not us. Deal with it.

The fact is, the best team should win SuperLeague. There is an opinion that Saints are the best team (based on the fact they have finished top in the last two years - albeit by only 1 point each year), yet you have gone on to lose in the Grand Final both times, and therefore not taking the SL title.

Can you honestly say that the last two years have been a complete success and you have achieved your goals? If you say yes, I suspect you are in the minority of Saints fans, as pretty much every Saints fan I know is disappointed.

Again table position, so long as your in the top 8, now also means nothing.

This argument really gets on my nerves. We can't have it both ways and it only comes up now that we have bottled it in the GF after winning the league.

EVERYBODY understand before the season starts that winning the GF makes the champions.

We were quite happy when we didn't win the league and then won the GF to declare ourselves champions yet now that we've won the league and not the GF, the league determines the true champions.


The fact is the champions are those who win the GF. We didn't. Move on.

We lost the grand final and it was bitterly disappointing. 2007 GF we were very poor and Leeds excellent. However, if we had won these 2 games, we would have had a clean sweep of domestic trophies for the last 3 seaons. If that is not the mark of a very good side then I don't know what is
