Give over. Whilst no player is bigger than the club, Kyle is one of the premier talents in the game. If you want to challenge for trophies, he's the standard of player you need - you have to at least try a hang on to them.

It's a bit of a poor PR exercise by Eastmond, this. Everyone is now so bored and non-plussed by the will-he, won't-he that he may as well just f*ck off.

I agree. It looks like they will both leave the club. One will be waved off as a hero with tears falling and the other will no doubt be booed, jeered and scapegoated when he announces his decision to leave.

Jammer was quite open from the outset in that he said he was 50-50 due to a longstanding dream of playing in Australia. More importantly, Jammer has earned the respect of the fans through years of commitment and fantastic performance. Kyle has spent about half a season as our no.7 after getting his wish to play there. In other words, he hasn't yet earned the respect that Jammer, Robes, Wello et al have earned. That will be why there is a difference. That and we went through exactly the same scenario with Kyle a year ago.

I get all that and I've said jammer is the more important signing, but Kyle too has said he has to choose between us or union just as jammer has said it's us or nrl. At least Kyle is letting us know early on so we can sort something for next year, jammer needs to do the same

Jammer has stated in the press that he would not be rushed into a decision, so he has told us clearly what to expect. Until last weekend Kyle was silent on the matter but he then said he would let us know this week. That leaves him three days!

I'll be a bit miffed if the week fizzles out with no news, but as it stands I've got no problem with Kyle's handling of the issue. He's obviously checked out his options, and would seem to have several of them to consider, so it's understandable that he won't necessarily sort it out overnight. He's not had anything negative to say about Saints or RL in the press at all, and pretty much all of the press chatter has come from the RU clubs he's spoken to.

Yes, fair enough, he hasn't established himself at the club to the same degree Jammer has, but that doesn't mean he is morally obliged to continue signing contracts for us until he does so.

Apparently we've made him a good offer - it won't be as much as he can get in Union, but you never know, for reasons other than money, stardom and gin and tonics he might just accept it. I'll be made up if he does.
