Not yet, no.
Apparently there are going to be a few announcements in November so maybe we will hear more about a pre-season fixture then. I think the club have to have some mini fixtures first to secure a health and safety certificate.

That is unbelievable frankly. They just hopped the wall and were able to access the internals of the main stand. Just think of the damage they could have done if they were chavs and not morally-okay urban explorers. Shocking really.
I hope Saints get the cladding fitting sharpish and set about installing some security at the place. A few rotweillers would do the trick nicely.
I hope someone has informed the club of the ease of access.

| It's the top of the turnstiles that needs blocking off and this Millhouse who took these pictures needs a visit from the Police after breaking in twice.

aye, I'm completely baffled by many parts of the design of this stadium, but the turnstiles really are very bizarre.

The turnstiles are still to be fitted out. Hopefully that will also mean putting something between the turnstiles and the top of the entrance area otherwise we may as well all just jump on top of the turnstiles and get in for free!
And my guess is you will be joining the whole of Saints fanbase in being baffled by 'many parts of the design'.
Still, we have it on good authority that Saints are also fitting cladding around the place so that should tidy it up a bit.

Cheers, although it does look like the turnstiles are fitted out, but I agree that it looks rubbish without blocking the gap off and hopefully that will be done. Personally I'd have expected that done prior to the stickers giving the number of each turnstile, that's why I suspected they were complete.
Yeah, seen the plans here for cladding, and it should really improve what is a beautiful looking stadium in parts. That is what baffles me when you see some really strange parts to it!

| fantastic pics from the 28 days later guys.
Cant condone them sneaking in, and i bet the security guys get a roasting.
As for getting in the stadium. One of Gruntfuttocks pics shows that you dont need to climb over a wall, if your sharp you can walk in through an open front door, with a conveniently placed fire extinguisher to keep the door open.
The 28 days later people are often folk who not only have an eye for adventure but have a genuine interest in recording decaying and unseen bits of our history.
In this case they have been somewhat naughty, but in a relatively playful way.
From a positive point of view they will have highlighted to Saints and Langtree, that there are weaknesses in the stadium security. This will therefore hopefully ensure that those with more vile intent dont get into the stadium to do damage.
With regard to the turnstiles I think they are a magnificent and unique feature of the stadium. Their very openness for me evokes a stylised archway to the gods of rugby.
This is far superior to the norm were turnstiles are sunken shamefully into the stand, and appear more like portals to a dungeon than a gateway to the Saints.
Oh and Saints turnstiles have been fitted with steel security shutters. They dont appear to be yet in use, but on none matchdays the shutters will be like a portcullis to the gates of a castle.

I like your positive attitude CM, you even tried to make out that the open concourses were genius and far better than the enclosed ones, but whilst you state it is far superior to sunken turnstiles, that is simply your opinion, the fact is that some people think it looks awful.
The reason that turnstiles are usually sunken into the stands is because it looks 'right', not sure why you call that shameful.
Agree about the 28 days later guys, they do some fascinating stuff, including these photos, even if they were a touch naughty!

Not sure he was meaning it literally! Using it figuratively created quite an interesting image. I'm sure CM is an artist, closet or otherwise, what with his superb photos and his creative writing. I don't agree with him myself. I think they just look unfinished, and I mean that literally! Above the turnstiles might have been a good place to put the badge, against a suitably coloured metal background.
To think, though, the original plan was to keep it as it is now and not to clad it. There is nothing appealing, literally or otherwise, to 75% of the outside of the stadium building at the moment. It just looks, well, unfinished. Once the cladding is on it will look a whole lot better.

| It looks fine. The turnstiles will have metal shutters so aren't a problem. The cladding will be done, so again, will not be a problem.
Although it's been handed over by the builders, there is still a lot of work to be done. It's like when you buy a new house and the builders have left you with a waist high fence in the back garden and no flooring.

You say this but on the original walkthrough the stadium was clad, and the line from Saints was that it would be clad by the start of the new season.
And no one said anything different at the club, its just people on message boards making stuff up that is the problem, personally, i've no idea but that was always the party line.

| Surely that's not the turnstiles finished? What's the use of building a 16 foot high wall then putting in a 6foot 6in high doorway open at the top?

| I would imagine there will be some form of perspex/glass/mesh enclosure. I really can't see it being possible to reach over and grab the turnstile operative.

I can't speak for anyone else, but what I put on here a few pages back is how it's panned out. So I know that the people at the forum were telling me the situation as it then was rather than how it was when we looked at the walk through presentation.

Didn't they have to change it following concerns about wind resistance? Building projects on that scale change as they go on. Problems and issues arise and compromises are reached.

This is what I was originally told back in mid August (from my post dated 16 August):
Quote I went to one of the season ticket forums tonight and took a look at the plans. Chatted with two of the staff about the changes.
I'd heard a rumour that the stadium wasn't going to be enclosed after all so I asked about this. Apparently Saints had to re-apply for planning permission to clad the North Stand due to concerns regarding wind resistance. Saints believe that the North Stand will be cladded by the handover date BUT it won't be totally enclosed. For safety reasons, there will be a gap of about one metre from the roof to the cladding. This is to allow the wind to pass through.
Unfortunately for those of us in the West Stand, and the same goes for the East Stand, we will not be cladded by handover date or indeed any time in the foreseeable future as the cost has become a problem. Ultimately it is hoped these stands will be cladded but there is no date as yet. There will be some wall behind ... Should the day ever arrive when Saints are in a position to afford cladding to each end then there will be a one metre gap left at the top to avoid the wind blowing the whole thing down.
I can also confirm about the doors in one corner and the screen will be in the other corner. I forgot to ask whether those corners would be enclosed.'"

| I watched some NFL at the weekend. One thing that appeals on that is the colour.
Why can't we have the ingoals painted like they do? Looks amazing. And have the white lines painted really thick and bold. I read online that they paint the markings on the NRL pitches as it makes the players appear faster on the TV because you've got the lines fizzing by.
Get it done...
