Yep, looks brilliant from above as it looks pretty much complete from that angle.
I was critical earlier in the thread about the block of white seats with the redvee, but I must put that down to the poor quality of the image, as it actually looks very nice.
The pics of the concourses in the North Stand are very interesting, and actually would be a very nice design if left open like that (still can't actually make out if this will be the case or not due to all the various views on it here!). The main concern is the weather, but on a summer's day, it would be very nice with the fresh air coming in. I assume the ends at least will definitely be left open like that?
As for the views from the inside, I actually think the open backs look impressive, and I thinkj it would look better if the North is kept open, as it adds a level of balance to the ground. Not talking about the comfort and protection from the elements, simply the look of the place.

| Re the open back of the stadium
I was watching a documentary a while ago on why they keep having to relay the Wembley pitch all the time (and quite often at the DW) the concencus with the experts was a lack of air flow in such an enclosed stadium. I believe it was Barcelona's stadium, or some other monster spanish one that the pitch in fact is mechanically lowered and roled out of the stadium after games to allow the pitch to "breath"
So the partially open backs are probably designed by much cleverer people than ourselves to ensure that the home of the saints continues to have the best pitch in the land

Jesus, man. Do you not know anything? Saints are waiting for the iPitch 4 to come out. Colour-changing grass. Widnes will most likely have to keep rebooting theirs.

I know that this is a problem at all the big stadiums like Wembley, Old Trafford etc. but at our place how can that be the issue when we have four huge corners letting air in?
I think other problems have caused issues with our pitch in the past. It seems to be sorted now though, the pitch has been quality this year even at the start of the season.
Leeds pitch seems to be the worst around at the start of every season.
Just a question to those of you who used to stand on the popular side.... are you happy being moved to behind the goals or would you rather have down the side? Will it kill the atmosphere? I see similar problems at Salford with them moving the shed.

| Quote ="The Chair Maker"The PA box/ Police control room is in the south west corner which therefore requires to be clad, as do the lift shafts to the high level disabled section of the west stand. No such box exists in the south eastern part of the stadium, nor are there high level disabled facilities in the eastern part of the stadium.
There is also the quite interesting fact that every different stand within the stadium is a different size, and of slightly different design. This is a change from the usual flatpack cookie cutter stadiums we see built in the uk.'"
I think this picture illustrates your point, you can see clearly the differences in the SE and SW corners and hence the differences in cladding

It depends, if the stadium is a fully cladded halo, then songs started in the west terrace could well travel around the ground with the north and south stands joining in. (I think a slow version of 'oh when the saints' would sound incredible in a fully enclosed, oval stadium )
Ideally, I'm sure most of the old popular sider's would prefer a standing side as opposed to an end, but I suppose thats just a sacrifice we have to make.

guessing you mean like the amazing Sapporo Dome that was used in the 2002 football world cup.

| Ours should be like that.
In the few summer afternoon games we could play outside and sit on the grass hill.
How much fun would that be?

That is actually a class idea. For nice days you have the sun and a picnic, for rainy cold days you have a good stadium to play in. Would certainly go down well in the NRL that one!

| This weeks piccies
Gabbion and tree planting in front of JK Phillips. You can also see the cleared land which rumour has it will become a car park
looks like they are close to completing the cladding in the South East corner
East stand car park being tarmaced.
Also note that the posh golden concrete has only been laid upto the edge of the south stand facilities.
The East and as we we see later the North and West stands just receive the standard tarmac pavement treatment.
More red seating installed in the South stand, however there is still more yet to be fitted
The turnstile blocks in the North stand are starting to get the red cladding treatment.
The lift shaft and staircase cladding looks almost complete
tarmacing the North west corner
Now from the Tesco side of things
The Turnstyle block in the South West corner is now resplendant in red
Note also the landscaping around the stadium
looking from the linkroad they have taken down a lot of the Barr wooden fencing. You can also see were they have flattened out the huge dirt piles that lay in this part of the site
further landscaping has been done on the entrance to Tescos from the linkroad. This includes a lot of tree planting.
The whole site is going to look quite pleasant in a decade or two once all those trees have had time to start to mature
