spot on with that, never stood up at all and were outplayed in every department by a fairly average saints team who just ran hard and straight and passed and tackled better. simple basic rugby league that we just didn't seem to grasp.when we are that bad then most teams don't need to work hard to beat us, just do the basics and wait for us to self destruct.

It was clear that the line speed was much improved, particularly in the opening 20 mins but we clearly weren't able to keep that going for 80mins. Rome wasn't built in a day and it was a positive step forward after the last few weeks of dross.

Not scapegoating here, just an observation, when you watch Jordan Turner closely in defence, he loses the collision practically every time someone runs at him. When making a one-on-one front on, where you expect a player of his size to handle someone like Joe Wardle (who I rate highly), his first contact is poor and he gets pushed backwards at least a couple of meters by the ball carriers leg drive. Compare this with Tommy Makinson who put in a couple of big shots last night.

I know he may be struggling for a bit of confidence but for me, he was one player who didn't man up. I'm not sure he has the aggression levels required for what we need.

If I were an opposition coach, particularly the top sides, I'd be targeting him all game. You may not make a break, but you will certainly get 15m every carry.

what gets me is..we tackle alright in the middle of the field,but when it comes to defending our try line the tackling seems to go downhill????

All we can ask is the same commitment and line speed again for next week until we get our injured players back.
Salford are now desperate for a win so our players need to start big, get on the front foot and defend a bit better.

LMS should be dropped for the Salford game. He stood out again as underperforming and the week off would do him good.Give Savelio a run out, he'd offer far more against the likes of Tasi and Hock.

I'm not sure, isn't there always a bit of "unfinished business" between Hock and LMS. Sav will probably replace Thompson, is there anybody due back from injury (Lomax,Swift) I know Jonesy had to sit out the giants game.

Anyone who saw the TV game v Wigan will have seen how dreadful they really are these days.

That's down to the "saviour" of rugby league Dr Cockrash. His rash signings and listening to what fans want is a big problem there. I'm sure he sees someone on twitter say X is a good player so he signs him.

They have a team a good individuals and on their day can beat anyone but they don't look like a team, they just look like a load of players with good ability thrown together ain't no balance or thought.

Totally agree with you, all you read on here is negative and disrespectful comments about players , coaches and back room staff. People on here think they are coaches or even some of them think they are super league players. They have not got a clue about the game, how it should be played. All the players give their all week in week out, Wilkin is one of those, he always has and will continue to do so until he retires

Wilkin is a very influential player in the team, sometimes he makes mistakes with the amount of involvment he has in the majority of the matches we play.

The mistake people make on here is that because he has a no 12 on his back and he packs down in that position they assume he is a second row.......he is not.

Over the many, many years of watching Saints, the style of open rugby is partly due to our "loose" forwards and I dont mean a no 13. Most of the time presently and historically the Saints style of play is a passing game, this is where we have our back 3 adapting to that passing role.

The only problem Wilkin has is consistency, a couple of games below par and he gets slated on here.

I thought it was a standard unit of negativity? Aka the Bradford board is currently around 5saddeneds where as the Salford board is only 2saddeneds and the Leeds board is -2saddeneds?

We've certainly had the biggest range of measurement. From -5 Saddeneds pre Easter to probably 3 or 4 last week.

I do include myself in that. Although I'd put my self going from -4 to 2.

Saddened has been missing of late so is Saints currently measured at "zero saddened" units.

He appears to dip in and out of both roles. I've kind of stuck him in a 'ball playing second row' position coz frankly I can't figure out what the heck he's doing most times, except when he's trying to boss the play and getting in Walsh's way!

IMO Wilkin has been the best and most consistent player for the last couple of seasons. I don't like him as a person but that's for a good reason.
I think a lot of Saints fans dislike him for his t.v. work which they seem to think takes preference over his playing.

He's had one good season since 2007. The 5 year deal we gave him was shocking! He's just not adapted to the modern game in size, power of strength.
