Wellens with two try assists today

Two assists does not a Wally Lewis make.

I'm just delighted we won a potentially tricky game against very decent opponents in good form, and considering who we had to do without the two points are even sweeter. Fingers crossed we get a few back for Friday. We have nothing to fear, Leeds are beatable.

Proud of that performance today. We went through some tough spells at times but we dug in and came away with points. To go to Wakefield with both halves, both centres and a few other key players off the field and win was very pleasing. All 17 put everything into it and we showed some great character in parts.

I'll start off by saying that the view from that stand is one of the worst in Super League but as people have pointed out, first-half we were pretty poor overall. Both teams had their spells to a certain extent but on the whole we were poor. It reminded me of last season in the sense that we probably lacked a bit of organisation when we attacked their line, but that's what happens when you are without both your first choice halves. We made a few individual mistakes and they took advantage.

Second-half though I thought we improved dramatically and were much more clinical. The lads off the bench did a great job when they came on and I think from 1-17 we stepped it up a gear. We threw Amor on for his second spell and it become relatively simple in the end for a bit. Jon Wilkin was much better second-half at 7 and Paul Wellens had a hand in a couple of tries. Hopefully that will keep a few of the critics down a for a bit. Didn't let anyone down once again. Masoe looked much better as well. I recall one carry he made where it must have took about 5/6 Wakefield defenders to bring him down. His fitness looks to be improving and made some decent yards for us. Far from ideal but he's getting there. Thought Joe Greenwood put himself about as well.

For me though, the most pleasing thing about today was that effort and commitment that we showed. It would have been easy for a side with the injuries we had to let their heads drop after the first 40 minutes but that wasn't the case. They dug in, stepped things up and we came away with the win. I don't know how we will do next week with the injuries we have, but I've no don't that they'll give it everything they've got.

As I say, very pleasing.

Roby was absolutely outstanding for you guys and single handedly won the game for you. - anybody that actually saw the game will know that I am speaking about Tim as opposed to James.

My son is full of the flu and we looked at the wheather report and dicided not to risk it as their dump of a ground is out in the open.

Hence when I told my boss to get stuffed in an email, they took it quite personally as opposed to the jockular manner in which it was sent.

Forgive me for thinking the worst about a fan who resorts to calling our captain, a player who has played over 500 games for the club and has won everything there is to win in the game a "snail".

At least you stayed away from the "muppet" line, unlike another poster who enjoyed the game via the radio.

Knew what - you mean the fact that you are a relative or mate of one of the junior squad members - get your inside info on team selection and share it with the world to the detriment of the team. Pass negative and abusive comments about the game and players when you haven't even been to the game. For what reason - that you think NB will read your dross and think - oh of course that's the answer lets drop my experienced players against leeds and give one of the youngsters a go. Supporter ? - if you own a dictionary read the definition.

No-one should be giving out any news regarding the team this year. I, and a few others over on redvee, have been told to keep it away from the forums this year after last season.

Team news is always going to creep out. I think on the day of the match it's far too late for any tactical changes for the opposition to enforce.

In all likelihood other teams probably know the team before any fan does as players talk.

How else would fans get the details. Information is becoming harder and harder to hold onto. With the break down of international boarders, it would only take someone in china to publish something that is legally resticted here to get around the law.

I think you'll find my MATES are not youth players and I haven't give any team info or injuries etc out this year at all.

I've known about injuries, team selection, new contracts etc and not said one single word.

I see no reason why not. I've no idea if it's true or not.
