There are many more of the stadium by lightbox on this link (over 50 pics)
lightboxuk.photoshelter.com/gall ... xQKftYPls/
Lets just say i think Saints ground wont just be the best club rugby stadium of either code in the UK, it will be one of the best sports stadiums in the UK period. It might not have the size of some of the bigger soccer grounds but its looking like it will have the style and class that most of them lack.
Its also good to see that the pitch is now going in. You can see were the drains have been laid and how they are now putting the sand over the top of the drains.
The new Saints stadium reminds me of the Emirates stadium were Arsenal play at. Its almost like its kid brother

At its narrowest point its a pretty tight fit, however its still wide enough to drive a lorry through.
Here by the way are the second set of St. Pete's insider pics
These first two show how close the stadium and Tescos are at the nearest point

| Some pictures i took on Friday when it was sunny
The view an old Rogue will probably have when he looks out of his bedroom window in Billinge
There was a steady procession of wagons dumping soil on the site near the East stand
The East stand, away terrace, with lots of work ongoing on the surrounding land to level and raise it.
The bloke in the chairs job was to sit in the sun/or shade all day and sort out any traffic jams. Hope he had some factor 50 sun cream.
South stand, note the blue crane on the left pouring concrete onto the upper TV gantry floor
They were rolling and flattening the soil under the East stand, possibly in preparation for pouring the concrete floor
The steelwork on the corner of North and East stand is now complete
This is the north stand, and you can see them raising the level of the ground were the rolling machine is.
The stone filled mesh boxes acting as a retaining wall are called gabions.
Brickies hard at work building the walls of the stands
The steelwork between the corner of the west and North stand has also been completed.
Note the absence of cross braises on this corner. This to me gives a good indication that the big screen scoreboard will be fitted to the corner of the East and North stands
Now onto page 2

Looking at the West, home terrace you can see that the brickies have been hard at work, with the walls now being quite high.
Although not visible on my pics, if you look at the aerial photos, you can see that the concrete floor has been laid on the west stand.
You can also see that while it is quite narrow between Tescos and Saints, its still wide enough to drive cement mixers through the gap.
Close up of the brickwork done on the west stand.
Look how cavernous this stand is, the transit van in the picture could drive down the gap between just one set of columns. Ive also looked at pics of Warrington stadium construction on the www.mywarrington.me.uk website as a comparison, and you can see how much more space there is in the Saints stadium. At Warrington the back of the stand is were the back row of terracing is. Saints on the other hand extends far out from the back of the terrace.
Warrington
St.Helens
Bulldozing the pitch
This pic shows the loading area of Tescos, with Saints west stand to the left. It also shows that only a small part of the Saints stadium is close to Tescos.
There was lots of work ongoing on the Tesco side on what will be the car park
zooming in we can see the ramp to the new footbridge being built. St.Helens central station is also visible in the background
Another shot of the ramp, with the Tesco car park in the foreground. The black box thing is i believe, a "Soakaway" storm water attenuation tank
Here we see one being maneuvered into position
The Tescos in all its glory
Back onto the stadium, and the roofers were also back at work. A big yellow crane was in place moving the roofing panels onto the stadium roof.
The man in the high tower, a job not for those scared of heights.

| Great pics CM. Thought you might have put the pic of the pie eater on the pitch pic I sent you on here lol
On the new batch of pics, the 5th pic down isnt a crane, it's a concrete pump. It's in fact a stotts pump which is a Wigan based firm and the floor is being laid by sidlow bros which is also a Wigan based firm.
The owner of sidlow has a son who plays for Salford.

None on the stadium build. Most lads are ether pie eaters or from Scotland.
Two St Helens based firms put tenders in but didn't get it. They was GRS construction and murraywoods.

| There will be little Wigan reminders all over the stadium.
The number 27 has been well placed.

Well I understand that every entrance to the away terrace is numbered 75 ,,cant think why , can you?
However as usual we are wandering way off topic , to get the stadium signed off i assume the graffiti about "wigun r ace" will have to be removed from all the walls ,
its looking really impressive and without doubt will be one of the best RL purpose built stadium in the country.

| Off work today getting car serviced so had another nosey at the stadium.
They have now roofed the whole of the south stand, bar two sections which i suspect are for heavy plant and machinery eg Air conditioning systems to be lowered into.
Also the sanding, pitch side is now past the half way stage.
The concourse floor in the East stand has also been leveled and sanded, ready for the concrete floor to be poured
They appeared to be pouring concrete on the ground floor of the south stand.

| Have you seen the 'onsite' page on Saints website? Saints are going to keep fans updated with photos as the stadium starts to become enclosed, which I'm really glad about as I was wondering what we would all do once Chairmaker and the Gruntfuttocks et al couldn't sneak a peak anymore!
The photos over the months we have watched the stadium rise from the wreckage of our industrial past have been tremendous and I would like to say a very big [size=150=#FF0000thank you[/size to everyone who has posted photos on here. There have been many times when looking at them has really cheered me up!

| When I was on site last week talking to the gateman/grounds man, he said that his bosses was going mad about some of the pics as they had to have been taken from inside the stadium.
He warned them anyone letting people in for pics will be sacked!
