I totally agree Roby was abit below par yesterday.

As per usual Roby has been flogged again.
Just because he can play 80 mins doesnt mean to say he has too every fooking week.
Needs a break before the playoffs for me.

Not flogging Roby at all. Been World Class all year apart from his spell out injured. We really cant afford to rest him because we are no where near the same team without him. Roby did have an off night last night but all World Class players do sometime during the season. Im dam sure next week Roby will be on fire.

I reckon Roby had an easy game last night, our forwards went pretty well last night. So roby didn,t have to put in a full on game., even Perry took the load off Roby by doing some ball distribution.

If we're comparing 'safe hands' to Meli, it's definitely time for him to pack it in.

What is Saddened's issue with Wello? His constant carping and negativity is becoming irritating.
Wello is still a great full back, an excellent choice for captain and a tremendous role model for young players. He may be lacking a bit in pace nowadays but there are few full backs in the game who arrive in the attacking line at exactly the right time, as he has done regularly for many years. How many other full backs in super league have scored 17 tries this season? As for Saddo's complaints about Wello's defence, time after time he prevents tries being scored when he's the last line of defence.
Give it a rest pal. Perhaps you should eat a few more pies?

I think the clue is in the name. Don't forget Saddened is the motivational speaker for Saints so, it's all down to his Carping that we have had this turn around in form.

I may have posted only once so far but, having read some of the comments on this website for many years, I thought it was time to raise the intellectual level. I'm also a Saints FAN - you know, the sort who attends every home and away game (despite working 240 miles from home during the week) and who stands and applauds the efforts of our team at the end of EVERY game, irrespective of the score! What some of your contributors should try to appreciate is that our players are only human, they occasionally make mistakes and the game is just that - a game! Do players such as Wello really deserve some of the crass comments which frequently appear? Wello is a legend who is sadly approaching the end of a glorious career but who is still a great and inspiring team member. Perhaps Saddened might just try to remember that.

Regarding Wellens; he is going to cost saints dearly before long. He is definitely off the pace both in defense and attack. I noticed last year that he was not getting there on a number of occasions; this year even more so. My opinion is he should retire and make way for Makinson or Lance at full back.

Safe hands under the high bomb

Read the game well as a sweeper so his defence was solid.

A great extra runner at the line at the right time.

His lack of pace wasnt anywhere near as much of an issue until the last 3/4 years.

But more than ever we are desperate for pace at Fullback, and for me an extra pivot (not a pure runner) as 13s have become runners and less ball handlers.

Just in terms of returning the ball we got away with it when our pack had more go forward - with less go forward in the current pack even from last year we need every yard from the kick return.

If he were to come through now even in his prime he would not be as effective as a fullback for us - the game has changed.

You don't even seem to need really good bomb diffusion skills anymore.

And frankly hes not good enough to be a second row or centre for us next year.

I was of the opinion that Wello's still got another year in him, that his experience and reading of the game still outweighs his increasing lack of pace overall, that his attacking deficiencies will be offset by the fact that we're unlikely to ever bother passing the ball outside of the 2nd row channel next season anyway, and that God only knows we've noone else in the backline (assuming Meli is off as I kind of feel he will be) that's ever shown that they know where the tryline is on anything like a consistent enough basis. But if [iSaintsFan[/i thinks he's past it and that the anointed saviour of mankind God-Child should take his spot instead then [iclearly[/i I must be wrong after all. I stand corrected. Thank you.

They clearly didn't even watch the game, he was very average.

Shows how much we are in if the fans want to see our clear top try scorer and third top points scorer of the season flogged and sold for being past it.

That's the truth though. You can close your eyes and gloss over it, but it's true. You can't argue with any of the points I've made there.
