It's amazing too see how quickly your pictures have gone from 'white metal bars and bits of concrete' to 'big, scary stadium'. Really taking shape now.

Fantastic shots Gruntfuttock! The main stand is looking sooo impressive. The stadium is going to look fantastic when it is finished. And the work for the bridge looks like it's coming along nicely too.

The is a 100 meter concrete pour at the stadium on wednesday and Friday. It will be pumped by concrete pump and might make for some good pics/video.

Sidlow brothers will be doing the job so I'd imagine it will be a metal deck floor somewhere on the stadium. Sidlow brothers son plays fir Salford by the way.

The concrete is being supplied by tarmac and the pump will be stotts pump( they from pie land

Anyhoo. What's a concrete pour for? Where is it being poured, and why?

Sidlow brothers do metal deck concrete slabs so I'd have guess of it being a raised floor slab.

If you've never seen a concete pump pour, have drive down and watch, it's good to see how they pump concrete in a boring type of way.

So are they pouring the concrete into moulds to place on the steelwork for flooring and such like? I'm not a builder, so I haven't got a clue what these things mean (other than a concrete pour is likely to mean pouring concrete!).

I'm not 100% sure but I'd say they will prob be pouring a slab around the top of the seats ( sort of path around the top).

So basically just a concrete floor.

If you've got some spare time you should have a drive up and see. As they are pumping it, it be worth a watch ( for 10 mins then you'll be bored).

yes it is , I was looking at some old pictures from March and there were about 5 white metal posts in the ground and now to see that , well it really is impressive

All seems to be going to ppm with the build. They are only 2 weeks behind.

Does anyone know if there are plans for a pedestrian crossing near Macdonalds, that road is a nightmare to cross.

Why would you want to cross there? There is going to be a footbridge further down the road near the stadium isn't there?

I think there's only going to be a suicide crossing. I mean, get real. St Helens to plan a crossing when it would help businesses and customers? Never!
