They have started to dig the foundations for the footbridge on the Lyons Yard side of the link road this morning so more progress there .'"
Have you any idea what they are doing on the bottle shop side? That hardcore ramp just temporary for the machinery to work on the right level? As it completely blocks the new foot path they have made joining the KFC crossing with the walk to Tesco
Also I have read elsewhere that the bridge is due to be lifted into place one night in May so they are going to have to get a shift on to stick to that... be fun to see it though

Should imagine they are making the ramps and a stable surface for the pile driver, its a load of work for the length of time it will take to put about four piles either side.
But they are doing quiet a bit of work there besides the bridge, the pavement entrance to the supermarket and the approach from the railway arch is their work and a load of security camera's.

| Looking fantastic
Has a name for the ground been decided on yet?
FWIW I think that we should just call it "the Halo" not the halo stadium etc and that would fit in nicely with sponsorship, Saints are now playing at the "Pilkington Halo" or whatever. Has a nice ring to it, but I dont know if I have read that somewhere as the name or potential name of the ground - seems a bit clever for me to have just come up with that

| Some of the pics i took today prior to the Saints match.
The entrance gatepost has been demolished, along with the wall. These pics also show the south east corner of the stand
Looking towards the North stand, you can again see were the wall has been demolished
The rain didnt stop the men at work. In the background is the rapidly rising North stand
Roof can be seen going on the north stand
looking towards the east stand and what will be the east stand car park
looking towards the West, home terrace, while work is ongoing on the north stand
looking towards the south west corner
The east stand looms large from Peasley cross lane
The pavement near the main entrance has been widened, and also dropped kerbs fitted, with studs to aid the blind and those with partial sight
Tonka roaring past the South stand
The entrance road to the site is lined with blossom, and other trees. These pics also show the roof sweep between south and east stands
The stadium looking more majestic with every week

| Absolutely brilliant photos!
One thing I like about going on the Arriva rugby bus to Widnes is that I get to see progress in the flesh, as it were, before each home game and so I arrive at the Stobart thinking that this time next season I'll be standing in that fabulous stadium that seems to be growing at superfast speed.

| Stadium looks awesome from those pictures. Are the corners filled in and which parts are going to be terraced. I seem to remember a bit of debate about this?

The corners are enclosed, yes. Two will have seating in them, one the scoreboard and the other one the big screen. There will be standing behind both sets of sticks (one set of which, in the East Stand, will be the official away end).

If you look at went GF does the overlay lower down the page there is a fuel station shaped drawing in the corner nearest the new roundabout.

cheers Chris,,that makes sense as when we went down this morning the Tesco car park layout can be seen with raised kerbs but the corner in question (next to the roundabout) remains untouched,,btw what exactly with regards to refurb/tourist attraction is happening to the monument/bottle kiln as it is seriously overgrown and is nothing more than an eyesore at this stage..

That's perfect! I think stadiums lose atmosphere with open corners, and having standing at both ends will be brilliant. Can't wit to go to this ground once it's open. I hope you get an England WC game. Saying that, whichever WC game you get i'll be there!

| Get yer tickets for the first game - boxing day against Wigan 99% certain I was told by someone at the club.
Personally I think we should have played Widnes as a thank you but the club want a big crowd to make sure we get a full safety certificate before the season, So it'll be Wigan 99% done deal.
