I'm surprised you can still afford to run a Giraffe with the cost of food nowadays, it makes diesel look cheap. Mine had to go when it got a sore throat, I couldn't afford the Lockets and had to part-ex it for a Llama.

| Some pics from today (saturday) when the builders were hard at work
The Stadium, looms even larger in the background, while in the forground are huge concrete man holes and drains waiting to be fitted
The pitch is littered with steelwork waiting to go up
The South West corner of the stadium terracing is now in place
Fitting part of the back wall for the south stand
The south stand steelwork now swoops round to the South west of the stadium.
The east stand is also starting to rise.
Looking through the gap in the East stand towards the West stand you can see that the corner of this terrace looks cut away.
The North stand starts to rise
Note to the left of the picture you can see the first few roof struts for the south stand have been fitted to cover the south stand seats. It wont be long i feel before the roof stretches from South to west

| Great photos Chair Maker and the descriptions help to fix on locations. I wonder what is going to happen to the two open corners? I know one will be for the big screen, but I wonder what the other one will be for? I can't remember whether I saw anything on those corners in the plans. I hope they are both covered as well, though, otherwise it will look a bit daft!

| I love seeing stadiums at this stage, I feel it's a shame they need to be 'coloured in'. I remember seeing the JJB before the coloured plastic seats were put in place, and it looked so pristine, only to come out like a slightly gaudy generic stadium.
I know it's necessary, I don't protest the fact red seats need to be put in place, but I hope it retains some sort of it's lightness and transparency. It looks like somewhere abroad in the sunny shots!

| Just been on Salfords site, and they have pics now of one of the other three stands being built. It looks like a glorified bus shelter compared to the main stand.
It's good they're getting a new ground like us, but I think it will look a little wierd with one large stand and then three very small in comparison stands.

The main thing for the Salford club, it keeps them in super league.

Not denying that, it's great that all these new grounds are finally getting built. It just seems an odd design, to have one large stand and then three tiny ones. The only reason I could think of, is it would be easier to increase capacity at a later date, as you would only after to individual stands.

The Salford web site seems to indicate that it is a 12,000 seater stadium with future expansion to 20,000.

Its 12000 capacity, but its not an all seater. There is terracing behind both sets of sticks.

| Took some pics today of the stadium.
Looking from Burger king the stadium is an impressive site, even taking into account the huge bulk of the Tescos infront of it
Cladding continues apace on the Tescos, while drains are being laid
The South West corner were Seats meet terrace.
Close up of the south west corner and the curved and raised backwall behind which the stadium announcer and police control room will be located
The west (home) terrace now has safety barriers fitted. These give some idea of the scale of this stand.
This terrace has an acknowledged capacity only marginally larger than the away end at Warrington. However it looks considerably larger. For example there are only 3 rows of safety barriers behind the vomitories (exit tunnells) at Warrington, Saints new ground however has 5 in total.
The south stand curve shown in all its glory.
Behind the East stand away end. A large storm water attenuation tank is being fitted.(The white square thing behind the concrete drains)
Floors going in on the south stand
Another shot of the south stand from Peasley cross lane
The east stand (away terrace) is starting to sweep northwards
The North (family) seated stand is also starting to grow
Two photos showing the scale of the development from Peasley cross lane.

| Those are fantastic pictures Chair Maker. Thanks for posting them. It's really exciting to see the stadium taking shape, and so quickly.
I would imagine the extra rows of safety barriers in the West Stand simply reflect a change in health and safety demands since Warrington built their place.
