So glad we did, the guy has been incredible & had it not been for injury and latterly a lack of kicking confdence he could have eaily gone close to Kels record.

I remember sitting down in the front room watching him against Cronulla(i think it was) in the world club challenge thinking how nice it was to see Saints having to sign up Wigan rejects....................how wrong was I!!!

He's been an unbelievable player for Saints but the time just seems right for the ways to part.

I know his form has dropped over the past year or so, but I always thought he'd sign his one year deal and retire wearing the red vee. Although I'm happy we're moving on and (hopefully) putting faith in one of the youngsters to step up, I'm heartbroken that an era has ended and Longy will be facing us next year.

Cunningham is an excelllent player but just like long he looks like he may be coming to the end of his career. His passing has been quite off this season. If he goes then Scott Moore will come back and it will be business as usual i think.

Wellens is a good solid player with a few years left in him yet. I am sure Lomax (or some one else) will be ready when he leaves too.

Really is the end of an era, I am gutted about the news but I think that is a lot from a sentimental can't imagine him playing for someone else aspect. I fully understand why Saints only offered him one year and its a shame that wasn't enough for him but good luck to him!

Best deal for all concerned, I'm glad it's been announced now so everything is out in the open. Time for Kyle to show us what he's made of and for Longy to see us out with another double.
