Keep up the good work Gruntfuttock, not really bothered if it goes over the time schedule.
The most important thing is its ours, not rented out by Mr Whelan, The Ancient and Loyal Brigade will be envious and quite right too.

No problem mate we will keep going , funny thing is , i think when the gound was cleared someone started a thread on the Wigan forum about how they should have a dedicated stadium , caused great debate at the time , seems to have died a death shortly after as most sensible fans realised no one would pay for it

Looking at pictures of the Keepmoat Stadium it seems very similar to the design of the Saints new ground. Shows a good idea how the finished stadium may look.

Perhaps they could share with Wakefield

You may also have noticed from the earlier pictures that the dumper trucks are carrying dirt to the Peasley cross end of the site.
They appear to be raising the level of the ground at this end.

Is it only the one rig?

When your new place up and running will you be ground sharing?
Some years ago was it Liverpool or Everton's reserves played at KR.
Is a similar deal being discussed do you know?

St Helens Town amateur soccer club will be playing at our new ground just as they did at Knowsley Road. That helps us get Sport England money (assuming Sport England still exists by then of course). But we won't be ground sharing with anyone.

Is it a bad thing, there only being one rig?

No not really. On big jobs where the is alot of piling needed they use few rigs. They may only need the one or the others ain't arrived yet.

From what chair maker has said, its driven piles and not concrete poured piles.

Does that make the job quicker? (she says, impatiently wanting to see walls go up!)

The amount of rigs depend on the size of the job and what's needed. I've been doing a job for past 4 month where concrete piles have been getting poured since July on 3 rigs and it's still got few month left yet!

Driven piles can be much quicker than using concrete. The fact the build will be done by October and the rig have only just turned means they expect the piling to be pretty quick.

I prefer piling jobs that use concrete.

Women!! They just simply do not understand the finer points of the man's world, such as piling.
